The Cabanas Win Again

Congratulations to The Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa for their Certificate of Excellence (2011) awarded by TripAdvisor!  Not only did they get an amazing rating, but the certificate is signed by the TripAdvisor President (TripAdvisor for Business), Christine Petersen.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with TripAdvisor, this is a website where anyone can go to leave reviews of hotels, flights, and other accommodations, post pictures and other completely unbiased travel advice.

This is an amazing feat for this all male gay resort in little ole’ gay Fort Lauderdale.  We couldn’t be more excited for them!

Abandoned Pet Rescue: Rescue & Rejoice

An organization that is near and dear to the hearts of The Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa is Abandoned Pet Rescue, Inc.  This non-profit organization’s sole mission is to take abandoned pets off the streets of South Florida, give them veterinary care and place them in permanent, loving homes.

As one of the few “no kill” shelters in Broward County, Abandoned Pet Rescue is partnering with gay Fort Lauderdale’s own Allied Kitchen & Bath to host “Rescue & Rejoice.”  The event will take place on Tuesday, September 13 from 6-8 pm in an effort to raise funds for Abanadoned Pet Rescue.

The rescue organization is funded only by the donations it receives.  All contributions ARE tax deductible and all of the proceeds will go toward the shelter.  Suggested donations include gift certificates or other merchandise that has value in an auction environment.

Beat Boxer Extraordinaire

Check out this incredible clip of a guy named Mike Tompkins who beat boxes his way through Adele’s hit sing, “Rolling In The Deep.”

He recreates this song, and many others, using only his voice.  Yes, that’s right…There are NO instruments involved.  This is truly amazing to watch.  Mike breaks it down at the end of the video so be sure to watch the entire thing!  And don’t forget to share it on your page!

What Do Republicans & LGBT’s Have In Common?

If anyone knows this it should be ya’ll out there in gay Fort Lauderdale.  Apparently members of the LGBT community and republicans both LOVE them some Subway.  That’s right gents…eat fresh.

YouGov BrandIndex ranks the brands with the best buzz by political party and LGBT status and Subway appeared as the number 5 brand among those of the republican party and number 7 among members of the LGBT community.

Has anybody else noticed the over abundance of Subway locations in the Fort Lauderdale area?  As a matter of fact, there is a Subway located almost across the street from The Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa.  I don’t know about you, but this is more of a reason to book that summer getaway!

Woman Bathes Herself on NY Subway

A woman, nude from the waste down, set up a wash station on the bench of a New York City subway car and proceeded to give herself a camping-style bath.

The woman lathered up while water and soap suds dripped to the subway floor…WHILE SOMEONE RECORDED HER!  That’s right, a straphanger (aka a person who rides on a subway while holding onto one of the straps to ground themselves), video taped the entire thing and uploaded it onto youTube in 3 parts.

The Sun Sentinel reported that 2/3 of those videos have been removed due to fact that the videos violated the policy on nudity and sexual content, although the last of the trilogy is mysteriously missing at this time.

The Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa might be clothing optional, but last time we checked the NYC subway was not!  She missed the memo.
