Public Tours:
The Alton Hauntings Tours are offered
through the spring, summer and fall of each
year, beginning in April. The same tours are
offered throughout the year but the tours
in greatest demand are the tours that we offer
during the Halloween season. The tickets for
the October Tours go on sale on Labor Day,
starting at Midnight, and are reserved on a
first come / first served basis. Price $25
Per Person -- We also offer seasonal bus
tours for $45 Per Person
Private Tours:
Private Alton Hauntings Tours are
available for groups of 20 people or more.
A 30-day notice and deposit are required for
reservations. Our private tours are the Ghost
Hunter's Walking tours ONLY, we do not offer the
bus tours as a private event. Private tours are
also $25 Per Person. (Note: We offer a VERY
limited number of
Private Tours during the Halloween season, all
private tours must be booked before August 1)
Step-On Guide Tours:
Private Alton Hauntings Tour are also available
for groups coming into town with their own bus
or vehicle. This type of tour is for groups
only! We do not offer them for individuals. All
Step-On Guide Tours are 3 hours in length and
can be customized according to visitor's plans.
Guides are furnished on a per-hour basis and
more information is available at 1-888-446-7859.
Note: Alcohol is not allowed on
the Alton Hauntings Tours and any guests who appear to
be visibly intoxicated will be removed from the tours.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Alton Hauntings Ghost Tours:
Is The Ghost Hunter's Tour a Walking Tour?
Yes, is the walking tour that we have been offering since 2000, but it is NOT non-stop walking for 3-4 hours. The tour is actually only about 15 blocks of total walking but the time on the tour is spent at and inside of the locations on the tour. We stop frequently and the tour goes at a leisurely pace, so it's not a strenuous evening.
Do We Give Out a List of the Places that we Go on the Tour?
No, unfortunately, we don't do that -- for several reasons. First, we like our guests to be surprised, plus we often change the tour, so it can occasionally vary from night to night. Finally, because of the imitation tours that are offered in Alton, we don't give out our tour stops because we don't want to help them anymore than we already are by providing material for their tours from Troy's book, Haunted Alton.
Is this the REAL "Haunted Alton" Tour?
Yes, this is the only tour in the area that is actually based on the bestselling book, Haunted Alton, and was created by the author, Troy Taylor, in 1999.
Do I need a Credit Card to Make Reservations?
Yes, all of the tour tickets are sold on a first come / first served basis, which means that the tickets have to be purchased in advance, just like tickets for a concert or event. Once your buy them, they are yours but can be sold to someone else as long as they check in at the time of the tour with your name.
Will I be sent tickets in the Mail?
No, when you register online, you will be emailed a confirmation form, which you can print out and bring to the tour with you. If registering by telephone, you will only need your name to check in. Confirmation numbers can be provided upon request. |
