The Smash Squad is a training team composed of ambitious, scrappy rookie trainees willing to do anything (well, almost anything) to get a spot in the limelight. Ready to jump in on behalf of an injured player on a moments notice, these girls are the ultimate alternates. They learn/steal/beg from the best and fake the rest, these girl may be only stand ins today, but keep your eye on them, for they’ll be tomorrow’s superstars.
The New skids on the Block are Montreal Roller Derby’s travel team. We wear neon green with neon accents as our uniforms. Often pants are not included. That’s why you love us!!
After being detained by U.S. customs officials for smuggling moonshine and cigarettes across the border, these bootlegging betties strapped on some confiscated roller skates, assumed the identity of Les Contrabanditas, and made their escape back to Montreal to dish out some black market brutality.
At the height of the golden age, there are three main derby-house’s that occupy the Red-Light-District in New France and it’s no secret that Les Filles du Roi are the most DECADENT derby-house of the bunch !
Illustrious for being crowd pleasers, costumed in gold and purple amid whiskey aplenty, Les Filles vivaciously revel in the midst of their audience of the night. Practicing acts of indecency, drunk on wine and wo/men, these ladies of easy virtue are often found together at dark, running around the streets of Île Royale enjoying their amorous adventures and at dawn, still groggy from the aftermath of their deboturious evening before.
Currently thriving with the Prohibition in the U.S. bringing many Americans, especially gangsters and bootleggers, to New France, Les Filles are always on the lookout for new recruites and are open to ALL professional libertines that would rather sell themselves to FDR than follow the norm.

These little Montreal girls wanted to grow up and be great baseball players, just like the Montreal Expos. But then the Expos got sold and renamed for another city, and the grown up girls got told they couldn’t play professional baseball… “cause you’re GIRLS! Girls don’t play baseball!” Well! They weren’t about to take no for an answer! They used their baseball bats to show those nitwits EXACTLY what girls can do…
They lobbied for women’s baseball, broke a few kneecaps, posed for magazines to raise funds… but no matter how many they bribed or beat up, they still couldn’t get their league approved, due to claims of unladylike behavior. They were down to their last batter when Montreal Roller Derby found them and gave them a new will to live… to fight… and to skate! Today, they still hit hard, and play catch. Except they’re catching and hitting women on the track… and off the track. Because as we all know, there are no balls in roller derby.
Montreal Roller Derby’s La Racaille is a gang of shit-disturbing street punks on wheels. Raised on the wrong side of the tracks, they banded together to terrorize the town, wreak havoc in back alleyways, and FIGHT THE POWER. They’ve been through hell and back, greasing their wheels with toxic chemicals, strapping scrap tires to their skates for protection against needles and broken glass, and brandishing lead pipes and a booty block for anyone who gets in their way. They are untamed, sexy, street-wise chicks, faster than lightning and itching to kick some ass… Beware!
