The African Music Web ring is run and maintained by Notz.com. On every page which belongs to the ring you will find a next link that will bring you to the next site in the ring, allowing you to move from one site to the next until eventually you get back to where you started. This service is absolutely free, there is no catch.

To join the African Music Web ring there are a few requirements your site must meet before we can add your site:

  1. Your pages must pertain to African Music
  2. The page with the African Music link must contain musical information, you may have links from that page to your other (non-musical) pages
  3. Sites must be or quality and show you have put some time and effort into it. If all you have is a list of links with no other information, you will not be accepted. The idea is to be creative and informative !
  4. If it's still under construction, come join us when it's finished
  5. Sites must have no pornography or links to pornography
  6. Sites must not pertain to racism, hate, violence, or abuse to man nor beast
  7. Sites that are only one page do not qualify
  8. Sites that steal bandwidth, using a link to an image source or music found on other sites do not qualify ! If you have any questions about this practice, please go to Web Prestige and read up on it

If your pages do not or can not conform to these guidelines, please do not go any further. We strive to maintain one of the best ways of finding quality African Music and information on the web! Sites that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted into the African Music Web ring.

Step 1: Submit Your Site To The African Music Web ring Queue

To submit a site for evaluation click here
Note:
Make sure the page URL you supply for evaluation is where you will be locating the web ring banner/code.

Step 2: Add the HTML Code & Graphics

2.1 YAHOO Server Side Navigation Bar (SSNB). The easiest is to put the code that Yahoo provides on your site. See Yahoo's Help Page. The code looks like this:

<script language="javascript" src="/img/spacer.gif">

If you are having problems this is what it all means:
spacer Replace [YAHOO!ID] with the ID used to submit to this ring.
spacer Go to dir.webring.yahoo.com/mbr?p=mr and locate your ring's title in the left column.
spacer Click your site's title in the MIDDLE column.
spacer Then select "get navigation bar" from the left column.
spacer A long URL will appear in the location/address bar on their browser. Locate urlid=[17-DIGIT_U_NUMBER]&page and copy ONLY that 17-digit number from the location window then paste it into the above code in place of [17-DIGIT#]
spacer Take that code and paste it onto your site. You should now see the navbar for this ring and all others to which you submitted the same URL with that Y!ID.

2.2 Customized HTML. If you wish to use the customized code you will need the site ID number assigned to you by the ring. You'll see it in the application confirmation email. In the first part of the long URL given to you, look for: go.webring.yahoo.com/go?ring=africanmusic&id=100&go The number represented above in red is your site ID number, make note of it. Alternatively, install the Yahoo SSNB and when it is up and running on your page mouse over the next or prev buttons and in your browsers lower left hand corner you should see the command that it executes, which will be a line as indicated above.

2.2.1 Alternative HTML1.

In the code fragment on your page, change all information that appears above in red to support your site; insert your site id number,  in place of "--id--", "Your Name" and your-email@yourdomain.com.

If your page uses frames, please make sure you have the TARGET="_top" parameter in every link from the ring code to prevent other sites loaded into your frame.
