Saturday mornings at 10am on KMOV-TV Channel 4

The Saint Louis Science Center and KMOV-TV Channel 4 have partnered to produce a television show. The show, which is hosted by KMOV's Kent Ehrhardt, features “behind-the-scenes” stories about the Science Center and highlights some of its award-winning science educational programming for all ages.

“Many of our daily guests only experience our wonderful, interactive galleries when they visit the Science Center,” said Al Wiman, Vice President of Public Understanding for the Science Center and one of the show’s producers. “From our educational programs that serve students all over the metro area to our public programs, like Segway® tours, there’s so much more about the institution that we want people to know.”

The show will cover things like Science Adventure Travel, the Science Center’s travel program that extends the Science Center experience to fascinating locations around the world. Viewers will also see the newly renovated Dana Brown Fossil Prep Lab, the working laboratory where dinosaur fossils that are millions of years old are cleaned and classified.

Other highlights include at-home activity demonstrations, like how to make “oobleck,” a detailed look at one of the experiments in the Science Center’s Life Science Lab and how viewers can be “At the Center” themselves through volunteering and many other ways.

Future shows will feature the Science Center’s in-house exhibit design and production team as they install a traveling exhibition, a “behind-the-scenes” look at the OMNIMAX® Theater, some of the teens in the Science Center’s award-winning Youth Exploring Science program and much more.

“We’re very proud of everything we do here at the Science Center,” said Wiman. “We look forward to sharing it all with the St. Louis community through this show.”
