  • About Margaret

    Margaret George has been writing novels since she was eight, using legal pads and drawing her own Crayola illustrations. Many children do this but most outgrow it! Margaret never did, although her focus changed from horses to history. The Autobiography of Henry VIII, her first published novel, was meant to be a "psycho-biography" of the enigmatic king rather than an apology or a confession, but it turned out to be all three. Following that, she’s stuck with characters that she feels the public misunderstands---Mary Queen of Scots, Cleopatra, Mary Magdalene, Helen of Troy, and now, Elizabeth I. She enjoys letting them tell their stories and trying to set their records straight.
