"Dodgy charges"

123 REG are very shadey in their dealings when it comes to charging accounts. I cancelled my services over a year ago only to be to be charged a year later!!!
I called customer services and was told to complete the cancellation procedure, I would need to call them!! Totally crazy and never mentioned before.
They then refused a refund.
AVOID at all costs.

"AVOID if you can."

Support is appalling. They take there time with replying and when they do you will find you are fobbed of with a pile of lies. I have had at one point two support representatives contradicting each other over two support calls. If you are unlucky enough to be with them keep a very sharp eye on your bank account as they appear to think its fine just to take your money when they feel like it, when raised the support will deny all knowledge of this although i have bank statements showing several payments...

"STAY AWAY FROM 123-REG AT ALL COSTS"

I was billed £40 for someones elses domain hosting, who happened to have the same name as me. I contacted customer services for a refund and was told the hosting was in my name (even though it was completely a different username and address) and that i should cancel the hosting package by calling an expensive telephone number. NO refund was offered even though the hosting package is nothing to do with me. Also once you store your credit card details in your account, it is impossible to remove them,...

"Great help with techno-babble"

I've been a customer for several years and have only once had occasion to ask for support. I guess that means the site works pretty well. As far as I was concerned, it did what it said on the tin, and I have been consistently confident about using their service. When I did ask for support, it was instant, courteous and well-meaning. Being a luddite, I didn't understand the jargon, but in the course of just a few simple messages to ad fro, I was given a clear understanding of the technical situation...

"Generally great service"

123-Reg may not be perfect (particularly around the merger with Supanames and confusion over the overlap - or not - of services between 123 and Supanames), but I've used 123 for many years and overall am very happy. Their packages have come way down in price and support do respond in a timely fashion. One niggle I've found is that if you ask several questions, they might only answer one or two, not always all - and they could do with reading the support request more thoroughly, sometimes. "123 are rubbish"

I Don't write reviews, But feel so angry with 123 reg, for the last 3 days they have said my emails and web site would be working in 2hrs, finally been told THEY had not been paying their bills, and my domain had been in quarantine and will take 3-5 working days to come on line, been fobbed off time and time again. support is rubbish...

"unhelpful and uncaring"

useless help support. Charged me £60 to get my web domain out of redemption the very next day after it expired (i admit allowing it to expire was my fault) every other domain registrar gives you a grace period. ignored my requests not to renew my webdomain with them after i stated very clearly i was leaving them and charged me anyway. Help support clearly couldn't give a toss about me or my business....

"E-Commerce and Instanttraffic packages"

Looked like a good site to set up my own E-shop. Fairly easy to use but if you get stuck don't rely on their help desk to resolve it. they rely on stereotype answers. Having set up the site I needed to add search engines for customers to find me. Paid nearly £40 for the priveledge of them getting me onto Google and others after at least 8 weeks only to find that having been guaranteed by 123reg that I am now on the engines, I cannot trace my site by a search on any of the mentioned. "Terrible for business"

Its rare that I'm motivated to write a review on a company. 123Reg are cheap enough, you can pay via paypal and their control panel is ok. Their customer support is where the problem is. They are totally useless, and actually don't know what they are talking about half the time. They will lead you down the wrong path to sort a problem and waste your time.
