United Airlines is choosing to go "Paper-less" with its organisation. To do this all United and Continental pilots will be given an iPad as part of a new electronic flight bags scheme (EFB). United Airlines said the iPads will replace paper flight manuals and provide pilots with navigational charts through a special app made by Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck. A conventional pilots flight bag contains a large 12,000 sheets of paper manuals weighing 38 pounds, this will all be replaced by an iPad making things a lot more convenient.

EA games employee Frank Gibeau has been going on record saying that the PlayStation Vita stands a better chance in the market than Nintendo's 3DS because apparently it has a more innovative design and better technology and a better set of operating system software. EA also said the the PS Vita has a much stronger title line up going for it and is likely to win in a head to head against the 3DS although general speculation still remains whether the Vita and 3DS will be able to compete against similarly priced tablets.

Nintendo think they have the potential to take the PS Vita on since ...

IBM is one of the world's best known technically specialist companies and they have been breaking the boundaries of current technology again. They have constructed a single hard drive unit made up of multiple individual hard drives, 200,000, to be exact with a combined storage capacity of 120 PetaBytes. To put that amount in context every single thing on the internet could be backed up 60 times with that amount of storage.

A 120 PetaByte drive could hold 24 billion music MP3 tracks at 5MB each but it is unlikely the developers IBM Almaden had such a use in mind. Developing this monster ...

AMD finally has a new CEO to permanently fill the position which Thomas Seifert has been occupying since Early January when Dirk Meyer left because investors didn't approve of his plans for AMD's future. The new CEO, Rory Read, comes straight over from Lenovo where he worked as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for many years. He has a big task ahead of him trying to bring AMD back up to competing levels with Intel in the mobile, laptop and desktop market.

EA Games EULA agreement for the new service "Origin" which will be needed to play Battlefield 3 has been met with controversy. Under the title of "Consent to Collection and Use of Data" if you agree you give EA permission to scan your hard drive for information on your computer, operating system, application usage, software, software usage and peripheral hardware as well as granting permission for EA to use, reproduce, broadcast and sell this information.

According to TechPowerUp the company POV (Point of View) is planning to release a GTX 550Ti graphics card with 4GB of DDR3 memory. GDDR3 runs at half the speed of GDDR5 so runs at 2133MHz instead of 4000MHz and upwards. The memory bus is also only 128bits so the memory on the card is significantly slower. Apart from that the card is pretty much the same as a reference GTX 550Ti. It features 192 CUDA cores at 900MHz core and 1800MHz shader and has a DVI, VGA and HDMI port. It takes power from a single 6 pin PCI-E power connector and POV says it will cost 113 Euros. But what we want to know is what ...
