BlueCross “Shape the State” Grant Winners Announced!

The decisions are in. Out of nearly 100 Tennessee middle schools that applied, 20 have been awarded Shape the State grants to improve their physical education programs. The grants, valued at $10,000 each, provide the nationally acclaimed SPARK physical education curriculum, teacher training and equipment for each recipient school.

$10,000 Grants Available to Middle Schools in TN!

Hall of Fame golfer Annika Sorenstam and the Annika Foundation awarded a $15,000 grant to Monroe Township elementary schools to fund the implementation of the SPARK Physical Education program. “It is very important to me that we are able to help youth learn the value of being active,” Ms. Sorenstam said. “Having two young children, I understand even more now the importance of teaching these things early in life.”
