B/OSS Live! Delivers on Content

07/01/2011
An abundance of telecom thought leadership was on display on the shores of the Potomac in Washington, D.C., this month as more than 80 speakers, including experts from more than 25 different service providers, took to the stage at the B/OSS Live! Conference to discuss the industry’s most pressing back-office and business issues.

From June 15-17, subject matter experts discussed the role of BSS/OSS in the cloud, cost and revenue management, personalization, the use of social media, smart grid, true service assurance and the rise of digital postal mail engaged their audiences through panel discussions, presentations and more than a dozen case studies.

“The conference program at B/OSS Live! this year was top-notch. It was the best, most comprehensive program we have produced to date," said Larry Lannon, group publisher of the Communications Network at VIRGO. “I believe it firmly established B/OSS as the most credible, reliable source of meaningful conference content for the telecom software industry."

In addition the concurrent sessions mentioned above, B/OSS featured outstanding keynote presentations from U.S.Cellular, tw telecom, Sprint, Nsight, Cox Communications and capgemini.

Sponsor evolvement in B/OSS Live! has never been higher. The following companies sponsored and/or exhibited at the conference: Oracle, Amdocs, CSG Systems, Cycle30, Info Directions, NetCracker, Aria cloud billing, Comverse, Digital Route, Enabil Solutions, Matrixx Software, Neustar, Orga Systems, RevX Systems, Telcordia, TEOCO, TOA Technologies, Zuora, BIT Statement, CCH, CHR Solutions, CommSoft, Communications Data Group, CSF Corporation, CTI Group, CustomCall Data Systems, doxo, DSET Corp., DST Output, Emdeon, Equinox Information Systems, Global Convergence Solutions, Hickory Tech, MCL Systems, MphasiS, OSG Billing Services, Pitney Bowes Business Insight, SaskTel International, Sterling Commerce, TeleSphere Software, The Connection, Yadtel Billing and OSS Solutions, Zogo Corp.

The next B/OSS Live! event will be the new Service Assurance Forum (www.serviceassuranceforum.com) in Boston, Sept. 22-23. The Service Assurance Forum is a unique new live event designed to create high level information on service assurance, an increasingly important aspect of the evolving OSS World. By adopting an RFI format where vendors publicly respond to a theoretical RFI, the SA Forum will catalyze a specific discussion around a defined service assurance challenge. The RFI format will move the discussion from mere rhetoric to interacting with the audience at the intersection between customer engagement, technology and the service provider’s business model.

“The goal is to cut through the clutter around Service Assurance, and get to the meaty heart of the topic," Lannon said. “Service Assurance is such a complex, strategic subject that it cannot be addressed piecemeal, outside of any strategic framework, and remain coherent. The RFI device is designed to make the strategic discussion as deep and comparable as possible."

B/OSS supports the competitive goals of service providers across all tiers and technologies with a singular focus on the business and operations support system innovations they need to lead the communications industry. From rural and independent local exchange carriers to Tier 1 wireline and wireless operators, B/OSS represents the full spectrum of the communications industry.
