My son thinks it’s so cool that his mom plays video games. I heard him bragging to his friends the other day about how it. I think it’s weird, to be honest but I like what I like I guess. Anyway, I want to get a new Xbox console because I am going to give the one I have to the kiddo so he can play it in his room. He had one, but it died out. It was the first generation though. I was looking at different consoles and I really like the MW3 one and the Gears of War themed console looks awesome! I don’t play Gears of War that much, though. My ex was really into the Gears of War series and was really excited about gears of war 3 ashes to ashes. I remember that. He was also in line for the release of GOW 3. I’m into first person shooter games but my game of choice is of course the COD series. Either way I do like the way the console looks but I might just stick with another plain black one. I’ve seen some really decent prices on some of the bundles lately anyway.

Lately I’ve been wanting to make some changes around here. I want to paint the walls, I want to add chair rail to my dining room and I want to refinish the cabinets and countertops in the kitchen. All of these things cost money and require a little bit of knowledge. I can handle some of it, but not all. I mean, as long as the chair rail installation is easy I could probably handle that, and painting is simple but I am not too sure about the cabinets. The fact is I don’t really know much about power tools or construction or anything like that. Once I owned a jigsaw but got confused when it was time to buy replacement blades for it because I don’t know anything about that kind of stuff. I wouldn’t know the difference between band saw blades or jig saw blades other than I know they go on different types of saws. I don’t really know what a band saw looks like anyway and I’d be lost inside any hardware store. I guess that’s what sucks about being a single mom. There’s no man around to do those kinds of things. Oh boy, that sounded so sexist!

A friend of mine and I were talking the other day about life. She’s a single mom with four young kids and she is currently struggling with a drug addiction. It makes me so sad to see her going through what she’s going through but it also makes me angry because she does have her four kids to think about. She’s been hanging out here a lot lately though, which is a good thing because that means she isn’t doing drugs. Anyway, the other day we were talking about life and the future and all that good stuff and we got to talking about what might happen if she isn’t around to take care of her little ones. She doesn’t have much family, so who knows what would happen to them. I suggested to her that she perhaps invest in some sort of life insurance, so she searched the web for some term life insurance quotes. To be honest, I was shocked that some of the plans were so inexpensive, but even though they were affordable I don’t think she would keep up with the plan. She has to get herself clean and on the right path before she would care enough to pay the monthly payments. On another note, she signed up for several quotes and now has been receiving phone calls from various insurance places and I think it’s annoying her. Ha-ha.
