I am Working America

A Project Of Working America

The lives of working people in Wisconsin and around the country are being challenged like never before.

Stand together and declare that all working people deserve…

  • The opportunity for a good job, affordable health care, secure retirement and quality public education.
  • The freedom to advocate for yourself on the job and to join together in an employee organization or union.
  • To receive their share of services for the taxes they pay.
  • An economy where big corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share as well, so that working people aren't forced to shoulder the entire burden of solving our budget problems.
I Am Working America!

I am over-worked and under-paid for NO REASON at all. I'm going to go to my job and say: "I QUIT this bitch." Once my business is off of the ground, I'm saying those exact words, so mark them.

I am ready to help design the America we were meant to be. We have strayed far from where we were intended to be at this point in our political evolution. A freer, and more fair society is in sight, but has been hidden from us in the shadow of faux democracy. Votes aren't valuable when money is the true power in America.

I am an unemployed american that lost my job for standing up against corporate fraud at my workplace. I was retaliated against and do not feel that I was protected under the federal whistleblowers laws. The corporation that I blew the whistle on is continuing business as normal committing crimes against my america and its tax payers! I am sick and tired of large corporations taking advantage of our country and nothing being done about it.

I am outraged that GM gets huge tax breaks, paying no income taxes for years to come, and outsources American jobs to foreign countries. Keep American bail-out money in America.

I am commited to speaking truthfully about corporate abuse of the goodwill of working Americans. I am a capable, experienced and educated productive worker, idled by the greed of the profit-takers who no longer see the vision of what their profit can do, beyond feeding their own growing appetites for more of everything. Enough is enough. The bubbling cost of housing has left me homeless, with a B.S in Business pulling A's all the way. I have known, from my first economics class there is no 'real' thing as a 'free-trade economy'.... Never existed, never will. All parts of our society have to do their part. I've done mine... and more than my share. I want a fair chance to have a home.

I am A hard working employee, over-taxed, under-payed (minimum wage) by a corporate job because I am listed under a different "job title" than I actually am so that I can't get a raise, to further my over priced education. Still Peaceful, loving, but fed up of being used, while the 1% sit and reap the benefits of my labors and I WILL NOT let my voice go unheard any longer.

I am A student guaranteed to be in thousands of dollars in debt upon graduation, a son, brother, uncle, in a family that can barely afford to make it to my minimum wage job. I'm blessed to have health insurance, but I can't afford the copay: a $35 dollar copay which is about 15% of my monthly income and the 1% make that much money in the blink of an eye.

I am Self-employed, a hard worker, uninsured, over-taxed, my family's provider, and fed up with an economy where I pay the bail-out money to save a corporate bank, yet, I lose the dream home I built by hand for my family! It's time to rise up America & fight for what's fair and just for us all!

I am unemployed who can not get unemployment benefits and I can't afford health insurance. I am a college grad and can't find a job, I have student loans and medical bills (I suffer from Chron's disease), and I have no money to pay for them. I am a liberal voter, and speak out and work for politicians I believe in, and it makes me angry and sad that my voice and the voices of others don't make the difference that the money from Wall Street, and lobbyists do. It's not fair! I'm MAD as HELL and I'm NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!

I am a currently unemployed probation officer. My job was eliminated when a sales tax increase failed to pass a public vote last autum. My job contributed to public safety. I now have no health insurance. I want to live in an America where American citizens have access to affordable health care not dependant on employment status. Middle class working Americans deserve the same access to services that our elected officials have. Corporate money should be out of our political campaigns. Senators and congresspeople should make a salary reflective of the median income of the districts they were elected to represent. The Supreme Court should eliminate lifetime appointments.

I am I am the Wife and Mother of working americans who work long hours for low wages, or have looked for work for 2 years with only the hope of low wage jobs! I am a disabled worker who now has to live in fear of SSDI cuts, and Medicare cuts. I worked hard all my life, and would trade my SSDI for a good job and my health back anyday!

I am tired of being vilified and intentionally misrepresented as a leech on society. I'm a unionized county worker who spends 40+ a week working on issues to make my city safer for everyone, not just the (dying) middle and upper classes. If standing up for the voiceless and the under-served is class warfare, then I'm enlisting in the Officer Corp.

I am Pissed Off that we continue to accept unfair trade deals that only benefit corporations that send our jobs overseas. We need to be creating jobs not passing agreements that will offshore more jobs and bankrupting America.
  • James Gilliam
I am P.O.ed that we could balance the budget in its entirety with something as simple as a true sharing of the wealth. Coining the gold in Fort Knox to make ends meet would also strenghten our dollar against foriegn currency. Reduce future deficits to a Zero Coupon Debt with a built in hedge against inflation. That is our enemy INFLATION not the value of a dollar in 20 years. Grandma could get a gallon of gas for a quarter while we pay 3 to 4 dollars a gallon now. Pot on the other hand has gone from grown in your backyard or 5 bucks a nickel bag to 50 to 200 dollars a bag. Jail time if you do grow it. Yet we have medical marijuana in some states. Sets of Gold coins could be issued in 1000 dollar and larger denominations to pay off our debt and fight real wars on our own borders with only two weeks a year our weekend warriors could be true american heros.. We need that far worse than a horde of gold in Fort Knox.
