Three editions:

  • ActiveX Edition works as an ActiveX control in IE (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Plugin Edition works with Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera on Windows.
  • Mac Edition works with Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Opera on Mac OS X 10.5 or above.

With the carefully designed interface and the built-in wizard mode, the TWAIN SDK is lightweight, easy to use yet very powerful. You can typically do your TWAIN scanning job in several lines of code. High-level acquisition support is provided for ease of use, and low-level functionality is provided for flexibility and control in even the most demanding applications.

ActiveX Edition can also be used in desktop applications. You can distribute non-web TWAIN programs that use Dynamic Web TWAIN as a runtime component royalty free.
