CHRIS FRIESEN

Students may be on summer break, but construction is continuing on the University of Manitoba campus, where Winnipeg's newest football stadium is beginning to emerge.

The 33,500 seat stadium for the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers is estimated to cost about $190 million. The stadium project, co-owned by the football club, the City of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba was designed by Raymond SC Wan Architect.

The Winnipeg office of Stuart Olson Dominion is the general contractor on the project. It is scheduled for completion by the start of the 2012 season.
