Canada and New York Welcome Julian Bliss for Start of 2010-2011 North American Tour

Leblanc clarinet artist, Julian Bliss, begins his 2010-2011 North American Tour this week in Ontario, Canada. The internationally-renowned young virtuoso will present clinics this week in London and Toronto, Ontario, followed by a showcase session at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Convention in Rochester, NY.

After visiting two secondary schools in London and St. Thomas Ontario, Julian will present a masterclass for university students at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. This masterclass will take place on Tuesday, November 30th at 10:30 AM at the University's Von Custer Recital Hall. The events in the London, Ontario area are sponsored and coordinated by Belle Air Music in London. On Wednesday, December 1st, Julian will present two clinic sessions at Comso Music's Cosmopolitan Music Hall in Toronto. A session for high-school aged students and directors will begin at Cosmo Music at 12:30 PM, followed by a session specifically for clarinetists of all ages at 7:00 PM.

Julian's Canadian visit will be followed by a brief visit to the Conn-Selmer corporate office and Center for Woodwind Excellence in Elkhart, NY. His trip continues with an appearance in Rochester, NY for the 75th Annual New York State School Music Association Convention. During the convention, Julian will appear at the Conn-Selmer Booth (#21 and 22) in the exhibit hall and present a showcase session on Saturday, December 4th. Julian's session, titled "Mastering the Clarinet from the Ground Up: A Common Sense Approach to Maximum Achievement," takes place at 2:30 PM in the RP Corinthian Room at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Julian's showcase session is sponsored by Wright Music in Port Washington, NY.

After the new year, Julian will continue his North American tour beginning January 11, 2011 with appearances at the music educators association conferences in Florida, Alabama, Illinois, and Texas. Julian will also present clinic events in the Chicago, Illinois and South Bend, Indiana areas at Vandercook College and the Woodwind and Brasswind, respectively.
