    Hello,

I try to use your translation plugin, but it does not accept my language, Hebrew.

Can you help me with adding the Hebrew language to the plugin ?

    Sincerely

    Dan Lavie

    Hello Dan,

Hebrew should work out of the box, in the administration page you need to mark it as translatable (and viewable if you want) and you’ll be able to use it.

You can read Hebrew on this site

    Hello Heri,

If you want to use it without the widget, you just need to add links to the relevant language (and edit mode if needed)

    for example:

    www.nurwanto.net/?lang=he
    www.nurwanto.net/?lang=he&edit=1

If you are using rewrites you can also use
    www.nurwanto.net/he/
    www.nurwanto.net/he/?edit=1

Good luck, and I’ll be happy to assist further,
    Ofer.

I’ve installed this plugin, but it doesn’t ever translate the page.

    Apologies.. hit Submit too early.

Even by adding the ?lang=… tags, the page does not get translated.

For a page to be translated you will have to grant translation permission for a translator, either registered users (i.e. author, subscriber) or all i.e. anonymous.
In addition if you enable automatic translation the page will be translated without even going into edit mode (i.e. checkbox in the transposh widget).

All of these settings are controlled via the transposh settings in the administration panel.

Try and lets us know how it goes.

You are hopping into an open door, I have researched this, and for now could not find a reasonable way of doing this correctly.

I have left a message in the xml sitemap plugin forum, endorsing there is the right place spacer

couldn’t you implement it the same way that global translator integrates with the sitemap?

Not at this stage, this would call for an almost complete rewrite of the sitemap core function by me – which will lose the point.

Is there a server version? and if yes, does it have a Java API to make calls directly to the server? Thanks!

    hi!
your plugin is very usefull, but many flags slows page load.
you can accelerate page loading by using of one sprite image with all flags as background of translating links.
    what do you think?

      #16 by ofer on July 1, 2009 - 10:07 pm

I am working on this for the last week or so, advancing more slowly than I figured. At first I thought of including the code inside the plugin, but I think this will change to a more service oriented model which will allow people to grab the sprite image from transposh.org which will allow my code to lose the headaches of you have imagick? gd? optipng? etc. So I hope this will be finished soon and will include it in 0.2.8

      Thanks again,
      Ofer.

    Hi!

I’ve added the plugin on my site:
    www.algarve-abc.de/ferienhaus-westalgarve/

But there is a problem with getting back to my default language. The URL of the default language flag (german) is the same URL like the actual language.

Is this a bug or did have made a mistake?

    Thanks a lot!

    Sven

    Hi,

Can I request for a Britain Flag? We’d like to represent the site as an English (Brit) instead of Engish (USA).

Great job on this. And thanks

      Hello,

The flag is included in the package and the instructions are in the FAQ, just switch us to uk on the proper file, it will be made simpler in future versions

Normally this is caused by an error wordpress suppresses, you need to insert
      define(‘WP_DEBUG’,true);
      to your wp-config file,
an alternative way would be to look for your php error log

This is probably caused by a wrong database setting, but anything else might happen

Really like Transposh – I think a very useful enhancement would be for the site admin to define the order of the flags/countries to prioritise or highlight certain languages.
    Excellent anyway though. Thanks. spacer

Is there a way to write a post in a language other than the default language? I want the default lang. to be english, but i need to be able to input Macedonian. If I make Macedonian default, all the menus, and sidebar items are still in English…

When I activated the Transposh plugin, the flash slideshow in my sidebar and post quit working. When I deactivated it the flash started working again. Flash plugin for images galery & slideshow is NextGEN Gallery. Problems started from version 0.2.1. Transposh plugin. Older veresion 0.2.0. works without problems, no crashes slideshow. In addition, a bug in the latest version can not exclude Chinese language. Regards
