  Social Responsibility

  Each year, students donate more than 100,000 hours to community service through Pitzer College's Community Engagement Center. Students participate in community service programs that coincide with what they learn in classrooms.

  

  Intercultural Understanding

  77 percent of Pitzer students study abroad and the College's Study Abroad program is ranked #2 nationally by Princeton Review.

  For eight consecutive years, Pitzer students have won more Fulbright Fellowships than students from any other liberal arts college in the country.

  

  Interdisciplinary Learning

  Students are taught to challenge traditional ways of learning. Pitzer has provided trailblazing academic programs such as environmental analysis since the 1970s and will be the first college in the nation to offer secular studies. Students can design special majors that reflect their strengths and interests.

  

  Student Engagement

  Pitzer students play an active role in college governance and help shape academic and student life on campus. Students run programs such as The Green Bike Program, The Shakedown Café and organize annual music festivals like Kohoutek.

  At Pitzer, sustainability and "green living" aren't just buzz words. From low-water landscaping, trayless dining and striving to be first campus in the nation with all LEED-certified residence halls, Pitzer lives its core values.
