This is a great bag. It holds a lot, yet when full it isn't too heavy or awkward to carry on your shoulder or with the handle. I am a female and can carry it when full without much trouble. The bag is perfect to use as an "extra bag" when I travel to bring home my purchases. Basically this flattens so I can stuff it in the top flap of my suitcase, and then on the return trip, I pack the things I bought in my suitcase and I pack my clothes (I use cubes and folders) into my duffle and I check that. It works great. It's sturdy, durable and is highly recommended. I also ordered the Large, but when full it was a bit too big for me to carry (and I am fairly strong). Enjoy!

This bag is now called the No Matter What™ Duffel, but I got and used the older version. Gone on 2 trips with it - 1 to Asia as carry-on (no problems there); and most recently to Haiti as checked luggage, and it still looks like I got it yesterday! This is one tough bag. It holds a lot and you just wonder where it goes! I'm thinking of getting a 'small'. I hope the quality is the same, and there are no changes to the new bag other than the name.

These bags are amazing and you will not be sorry when you purchase! I have 5 very active, well traveled kids and each one owns an ES Cargo Duffel (the model with compression straps) for their trips abroad, camping, to the beach, mountains and on our sailboat. I think the "No Matter What" duffels seem to be the new name for this model of bag. The bags look brand new even after years of use - not one has even threatened to burst, the zippers work great and they have stood up to the abuse that kids and airlines have thrown at them! The kids have the medium size and they easily hold a week's worth of gear (clothes, a few toys, books) for the trips we make. We also have two of the large size - one easily holds all our towels (7 beach towels, 7 bath towels). Now my husband and I plan to get one of these bags each - probably in size large - as we have gone through 5 inferior models (NOT Eagle Creek!) between us during the time the kids have had their bags! Great buy, we love them.

Last year after years of struggling with luggage solutions my husband and I bought a medium duffel bags and various cubes and sacs. I was so excited and happy with what we bought that I told anyone who would listen.
The system is so versatile we've used them for week long trips to the Caribbean and weekends in New York & Boston.
I'm able to get everything I want in the bag and it's all organized and easy to find. I love it and can't imagine using any other luggage.
Thank you so much for your well thought out and well made gear.

I purchased cargo bag in 1993 when I was doing a lot of international travel. The bag went with me to China, S. Korea, Thailand, and other places. Since then it's served as a gym bag and a foot locker. It's been stuffed in overhead bins, tossed in the bottom of my boat, and crammed into my trunk. A few months ago,the zippers finally started to go. I had to stop using it but I couldn't make myself get rid of it. The bag itself is still in fine shape. Long story short, I contacted your warranty support via email and today the bag was returned to me with new zippers, and a new strap free of charge! I couldn't believe it. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it! Thank you Eagle Creek.

I took an older version of this same bag (no compression straps on my model) in size medium on a 3 week trip to Egypt. It was "check in" baggage, not "carry on". It survived both the to and back international flights (United and Lufthansa) and 4 inner-city flights (Egypt Air) and a Nile cruise. I was truly amazed how well this held up through baggage handlers, etc. No tears, no rips, just dirty. I put it in the washing machine, air dried and the bag looks brand new. This is truly a bag that can take a beating. Love the big zippers and the fact that you can put a lock on it. Extremely well made, sturdy bag and well worth the money! Don't think you will need to replace this one. Ever.

Dang this bag is nice. I bought it because i was going to college, and never wanted to have to buy another duffel like it again (see warranty) but even so, this bag is TOUGH. Just by looking at it, not to mention holding it in your hands, you can tell how rugged it is. Not to mention, the large size is able to hold ALL of my clothes, with room to spare! Thanks for makin a great bag Eagle Creek

I have 3 different sizes of your ES Cargo Duffle; Small, Medium, and Large. All 3 are built rugged and can take a lot of rough handling. I purchased the small size first and like it so well that bought the other 2 sizes for when I need more capicity. Keep up the good work Eagle Creek.

The Cargo Duffel absolutely rocks! I've owned 2 of the regular sized bags for a couple of years and they regularly travel with me to Europe and back. Not only are they spacious and indestructible but they look cool tool – something that perhaps Special Agent Jack Bauer might be seen collecting at the baggage terminal!
