Mike Vardy is a writer, talker and “productivityist” based in Victoria, BC, Canada.

He writes both online and off, gives talks and workshops and spends time “stay-at-home fathering” his daughter and son. Prior to taking on his current position as a Managing Editor at Lifehack.org, he served as an editor at The Next Web, while continuing to contribute guest articles to several blogs in the productivity sphere as a “legitimate productivityist”, including a mention by one of Canada’s national newspapers, The Globe and Mail. Mike also enjoyed a year-long stint as editor of Work Awesome and acted as producer/host of the podcast adjunct to the site before launching his own podcast, dubbed ProductiVardy. He now hosts Mikes on Mics with Michael Schechter of A Better Mess.

Elsewhere in the podcasting realm, he co-hosts Dyscultured – a weekly podcast and live stream with Anthony Marco, Andrew Currie and Shane Birley that discusses (and dissects) technology and pop culture with a distinctively Canadian flavour. He also co-hosts a conversational podcast alongside fellow Dyscultured host Anthony Marco called Talking is Dead. He has also appeared on CBC Radio’s On The Island and the popular FourCast podcast on the TWiT network.

Offline, he has written for CBC Radio’s Definitely Not The Opera and co-founded the sketch comedy troupe The 30 Cent Players. During the troupe’s run, he wrote, directed and performed in many sketches as they made appearances at festivals in Calgary, Washington (DC) and San Francisco, where they opened for Kids In The Hall’s Bruce McCulloch. He continues to work on comedic writing in what spare time he has at the productivity parody site he created in 2008, Eventualism.
