Yuvi (the main character in NOT IN MY LIFETIME) has a wife who wants things he can’t give her, an agent who wants a book he can’t deliver, and dead parents who haunt him as he fails his wife and his book. So naturally, Yuvi goes meta on his novel, his characters, and his own neuroses — what else is a shame-filled Jew to do?
Follow Yuvi on a journey that starts with him standing half naked on his desk and continues on to his suburban Jewish childhood in Atlanta, to the North Carolina mountains of his father’s childhood, to several hospital waiting rooms, to an attempt to save the human race on Uranus, and beyond.
Hopefully Yuvi can come back from this journey with enough insight to fail a little bit less than before and (God forbid) step outside of his own neurotic flesh.
