American Society of Journalists and Authors – Founded in 1948, the American Society of Journalists and Authors is the nation’s leading organization of independent nonfiction writers. Our membership consists of more than 1,400 outstanding freelance writers of magazine articles, trade books, and many other forms of nonfiction writing, each of whom has met ASJA’s exacting standards of professional achievement.

Council of Literary Magazines and Presses – The Council of Literary Magazines and Presses serves one of the most active segments of American arts and culture: the independent publishers of exceptional fiction, poetry and prose. As the service organization to these publishers, the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses guides literature through the business of publishing. CLMP believes that stronger organizations and operations result in our members’ literature reaching a larger and more diverse audience. CLMP’s practical approach to this philosophy is two-tiered. Our services and resources are designed to develop each member’s publishing capacity through increased marketing and organizational skills, while CLMP also serves as a nexus of communication, promoting shared learning across the entire field. The Council of Literary Magazines and Presses unifies the strengths of this diverse field by serving literary publishers’ common needs and goals while celebrating their independent voices.

Internet Archive – The Internet Archive is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that was founded to build an Internet library, with the purpose of offering permanent access for researchers, historians, and scholars to historical collections that exist in digital format. Founded in 1996 and located in the Presidio of San Francisco, the Archive has been receiving data donations from Alexa Internet and others. In late 1999, the organization started to grow to include more well-rounded collections. Now the Internet Archive includes texts, audio, moving images, and software as well as archived web pages in our collections.

Microsoft – Founded in 1975, Microsoft is the worldwide leader in software, services, and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential.

National Writers Union – The National Writers Union is the trade union for freelance and contract writers: journalists, book authors, business and technical writers, web content providers, and  poets. With the combined strength of nearly 2,000 members in 16 chapters nationwide, and with the support of the United Automobile Workers (UAW), the Union works to defend the rights and improve the economic and working conditions of all writers.

New York Library Association – The mission of the New York Library Association (NYLA) is to lead in the development, promotion and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning, quality of life, and equal opportunity for all New Yorkers.

Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America – Founded in 1965 by the late Damon Knight, Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America brings together the most successful and daring writers of speculative fiction throughout the world. Since its inception, SFWA® has grown in numbers and influence until it is now widely recognized as one of the most effective non-profit writers’ organizations in existence, boasting a membership of more than 1,500 professional science fiction and fantasy writers as well as artists, editors and allied professionals. Each year the organization presents the prestigious Nebula Awards® for the year’s best literary and dramatic works of speculative fiction.

Small Press Distribution – Small Press Distribution is a non-profit literary arts organization located in Berkeley, California. Our mission is to connect readers with writers by providing access to independently published literature. SPD allows essential but underrepresented literary communities to participate fully in the marketplace and in the culture at large through book distribution, information services, and public advocacy programs. SPD nurtures an environment in which the literary arts are valued and sustained.  Founded in 1969, SPD is currently the only distributor in the country dedicated exclusively to independently published literature.

Special Libraries Association – The Special Libraries Association (SLA) is a nonprofit global organization for innovative information professionals and their strategic partners. SLA serves more than 11,000 members in 75 countries in the information profession, including corporate, academic and government information specialists. SLA promotes and strengthens its members through learning, advocacy, and networking initiatives.
