Welcome to our Squam store...

The squam store will feature only one item per month; an exclusive, handmade item by one of the many artists that we admire. These offerings will be limited editions made available to you as a pre-order for a short time only.

Jill + Natalie Fingerless Mitt Pattern with Hand-dyed Yarn...

Nothing says Squam more than fingerless mitts made with hand-dyed yarn! This month we are thrilled to offer you a fingerless mitt pattern created especially for us by the talented Natalie Selles to go with the gorgeous hues of yarn inspired by Squam Lake and hand-dyed by Jill Draper. Both of these amazing women are teaching with us at the Spring session in New Hampshire.

About the pattern...
These fingerless mitts are the perfect thing for cozying up on the couch with a good book and a cup of tea. They come in three sizes, two length options, and two cuff options. The vertical cuff (shown in Lake Ice above) is perfect for knitters looking to get a start working in the round, while the horizontal cuff is excellent for those with established skills. You'll be so happy to pull these on as you wander from cabin to dining hall in the cool Squam morning and to wear them by the fire with friends as you knit in the evening.

The pattern uses one skein of Jill Draper Makes Stuff Hudson Yarn below (224m/245yds 3.75 oz, 100% Superwash Merino).

You will need 4mm (US 6) needles for working in small circumferences (dpns or 32” circular for magic loop).

About the Yarn...
Jill Draper Makes Stuff's Hudson is a soft & squishy, 4-ply, Superwash Merino, worsted weight yarn. Hudson is spun in the US, just for Jill Draper Makes Stuff and hand dyed with love in the Hudson Valley. The colors for the Pinehurst Mitts are exclusive to Squam! Both shades are inspired by the beauty of Squam Lake; Lake Ice - is the palest shade of blue, just like the giant blocks filling the Ice House and Deepest Depths is a dark shade of greenish blue, evocative of the center of the lake viewed from the shore.
