"Civic hacking" is creative use of technology to innovate our civic lives, especially our participation in government. I'm a software developer, entrepreneur, and civic hacker based in Washington, DC.
In particular, I am... CTO and co-founder of POPVOX, a startup
which launched in fall 2010 to bridge the gap between the information the
public wants to provide and what Members of Congress want and need to
receive. Proprietor of Civic Impulse, LLC
out of which I run GovTrack.us an open-source
website that tracks what is happening in the U.S. CongressGovTrack Insider.com, GovTrack's
reporting arm-->. Author of the in-progress self-published book Open
Government Data: The Book, at opengovdata.io. "Developer at Large" for LARSA, Inc., which is
a structural engineering software company in New York.
