The Last P, Well That’s Not That Simple
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010Yawnnnn! Trying to knock winter’s rust off and get ready for the summer cookout season. Rain and damp weather is still hanging out a bit. In the mean time, check this classic performance from Treach and the boys. Nothing to note except for Vinny taking things a bit too far at 3:01.

Live Fridays - Cypress Hill
Friday, April 16th, 2010In keeping with a tradition I haven’t been keeping, here is another in Yo!’s line of Live Friday performances in studio. For all intents and purposes this is an acapella version up until about he 2 minute mark. I just found out while on wikipedia, that their new album drops next Tuesday the 20th. I swear I didn’t plan posting this to coincide with the album release. I merely needed to get on the internweb to find something interesting to post about these guys. I think the whole purpose of this performance was for B-Real to annoy the shit out of me every time he says “Understand”

60 Degrees at the Sheep Meadow
Thursday, April 15th, 2010Dres and Mr. Lawnge made up Black Sheep. Dres appears right at home in front of the camera. Fab asks the typical questions about what the Sheep are all about and about their crew, the Native Tongues. Props to Armani suits and Central Park.

A Preview of Things To Come
Tuesday, April 13th, 2010I think we have covered this historic episode of Arsenio to death; Here, here, here, here and here. Dre is feeling a little more comfortable in front of the camera this time, but still a bit awkward. When I look back and see Dre during the early Death Row years, I wonder, did he have any clue at the craziness that Suge would start causing in a short time or that he would be selling Dr. Pepper, HP computers and $300 head phones in 2010?
By the way, did anyone catch Dre chopping it up with King James in Boston on ESPN, on baseball’s opening night?

Pieces of Yo! Part 10
Monday, April 12th, 2010Starting off with Biz Markie live on stage outside NY Giants stadium. He is touring to promote his newest album at that time “I Need A Haircut” for which he was sued for copyright infringement for “Alone Again”, because he illegally used a sample from song writer Gillbert O’Sullivan. Funniest part is the Ed Lover Dance got the biggest reaction from the crowd.
Nice & Smooth talkin on what their names stand for. And how they are just trying to drop a little knowledge with their music.

Music Video Vault : Caveman “I’m Ready”
Thursday, April 8th, 2010One of the more predominate hip hop groups that the UK has given us, “I’m Ready” was the trios biggest hit. They released 2 albums and an EP from 1990-92. Splitting up in 1992, MCM, the Principal, and Diamond J never attained the same success after the demise of the group.

Chuckie Wants To Listen to Barry White
Tuesday, April 6th, 20105th Ward’s Kelly Court welcomes Fab with the Geto crew during this episode of Yo! Opening up is some rare Rap-A-Lot footage with a partial run down of J. Prince’s roster, introducing themselves to the camera. After the break, Bushwick is chilling with his Chuckie doll with the OLD SCHOOL DiscMan (Google it you mp3 heads) & headphones, Face is shameless in his promotion of this his new album and single and Willie Dee is givin props to the crooked letter i with the St. Ides shirt and patented leather blazer. The trio is telling the story of how they were paired up to form the group, a story that’s no secret. As Fab and the boys are walking through an abandon lot, Bushwick is in the front and keeps answering all of Freddy’s questions that he is asking Face leading them all to get a few laughs. Check my man in the all white pimp suit at the 58 second mark.
