Sunday Gatherings

On Sunday mornings (8:30 & 11:15 AM) we sing songs to God and learn together as we study the Bible.  During most services, questions and/or comments are encouraged, and space is given for discussion of the morning’s topic or text.  Our service is very casual – most people wear jeans, and if you were thinking about getting a tattoo, you would be right at home.  Coffee is provided, but if you’re a coffee snob and want to bring your own, we’re cool with that.

Location

We meet at the old Arcadia Presbyterian church building on the corner of Bigelow and Arcadia in the Heart of Peoria Neighborhood. We love the idea of bringing life back to a building that sat empty for almost a decade. There’s something almost poetic about continuing the work that was started in the neighborhood by the former Arcadia Presbyterian Church community.

Kids

If you have kids, bring them. There are a lot of them in our church – especially little ones. Our children’s church, called Genesis, is located in the basement of the building, and you can drop your kids off 10 minutes before service if they’re between 6 months and 5 years old. Children 6 and up are encouraged to attend the service with their parents. If your child does become disruptive (not that your kid ever does that), you can hang out in the area outside the Sanctuary, called the Front Porch. The audio from the service is broadcast out there so you can still take it in while your child colors or looks at books.

We have Sunday School classes available at 10:00 AM for children 3 years old through 6th grade. If you’re not registered for a class, you can hang out in the area outside the Sanctuary, called the Front Porch, and enjoy coffee while meeting some other Imago folks.
