Arsenal Has Rivals In Chase For Young Brazilian Ace

Arsenal’s scouts have identified a new prospect for the club a few months back, and with the January transfer season now closed with no action from the Gunners, Galatasaray or Fiorentina might attempt to get first to Brazilian wonderkid Casemiro and steal him from under Wenger’s nose.

Having already made his debut for the senior national squad at a very fresh age of 19, Casemiro is rumoured to cost some £15m to whoever will decide to go for him first, but with Wenger highly interested in young potential-filled footballers Arsenal might get to profit from the deal.

The Brazilian starlet is a regular player in the U-21 national squad,  and since 2010 when he made his debut for Sao Paulo he managed to become a real asset to the club turning into the team’s engine providing great assists and even scoring a total of 7 goals since he started playing for the Brazilian squad.

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger’s interest to transfer a new attacking midfielder is well known, and with Hazard at a very high price since a lot of top clubs took interest, the Frenchman might have to look elsewhere.

Injury News Update. Are Gibbs, Djourou and Chamakh Ready?

The good news are continuing to pour on the Emirates Stadium as more and more players become ready to play for the Gunners.

After having to deal with massive squad problems for quite a long time, Wenger recovered most of his unavailable players a couple of weeks ago, and the follow-up is even better as the Gunners will finally be able to start a match with a left-back on the left side instead of a center-back.

Kieran Gibbs has resumed training and will now probably be available for the weekend game against Sunderland allowing club defensive star Thomas Vermaelen to finally play in the center after having to cover up for Gibbs and Santos on the left side.

Djourou is also back from injury, but that’s not too much of a big news for Wenger who already has the central positions packed, and with both Sagna and Gibbs now fit there’s no need to dispatch neither Vermaelen nor Koscielny on the wings.

Chamakh is back too as Morocco ended their run in the African Nations Cup after a very disappointment performance from both the national squad and the Arsenal striker, so if he wasn’t able to help his squad is unlikely he’ll do much for Arsenal in the rest of his time at the club before a very likely summer departure.

Let’s have a Bash Bad-Boy Bendtner Day!

I was sitting here thinking that there is not much Arsenal news of any substance to discuss, but kept seeing the occasional headlines like “Troublemaker Bendtner admits speeding” and was thinking of his terrible disciplinary record since arriving at Sunderland on loan.

We’ll always known he was an arrogant twat, but other than one incident when he was photographed with his trousers around his ankles coming out of a nightclub, he wasn’t known to be a “naughty boy” as such.

But since going to the Black Cats, Bendtner has been involved in all sorts of capers. There was the “car scratching” episode with Lee Cattermole near the Newcastle United ground to start with in early December, then shortly afterwards came the 103 mph speeding offence, which has just gone to court this week.

Sarah Robinson, prosecuting, told the court: “He was seen doing 103.6mph for a distance of 0.137 miles, and was recorded by a police Vascar system. He has indicated a guilty plea.”

This was swiftly followed by the news that he had been arrested after an very-late-night brawl at a luxury Tyneside hotel. Bendtner and another 23-year-old man were released without charge.

Then to top it off he was caught on camera berating the staff at a Pizza parlour in Copenhagen after his credit card was rejected, again very early in the morning. He was giving it the “Big I am” (Do you know who I am? I could buy this whole shop and sack you all!) before scrounging the cost of the meal from some young diners. And that was supposed to be when he was recuperating from an injury!

That is quite a long list considering he has only been at the Stadium of Light for seven months.

Would anyone like to give the case for the defence?

Rosicky – Arsenal need to build on Blackburn win and take Top Four place

The Arsenal midfielder Thomas Rosicky is not overly bothered that the Gunners scored seven goals against Blackburn, but should just be happy that they have finally produced a top class performance and must now continue that form to carry them into the Top Four of the Premiership.

The Czech international said: “We recently had an unsuccessful spell so this is something we can build on,”

“We can be happy after this game but the most important thing is to carry a performance like that and fight for a Champions League spot.

“It was a game when almost everything went in and it’s good for confidence. But it does not matter if it was seven goals or one. The most important thing is the performance and the fact we can repeat it.”

Arsenal (and Wenger) had been pilloried by the press and Arsenal fans alike after four games without a win, and Rosicky thinks that the team has to ignore the derisory comments and just work to regain their form consistently.

“That is today’s world,” he said. “It is a very crazy, but that is what you can expect if you lose three times in a row. The important thing is for us not to listen to that, keep working and produce another performance like Saturday’s.

“We were five points behind fourth place and that is nothing in today’s football at this stage of the season. If we perform like this I have no doubt we will be there.”

That gap is now only three points right now, making a win at Sunderland even more important this weekend. Rosicky is right; Arsenal need to build on this excellent win if they are going to salvage anything from this season.

Ryo Impresses At Bolton But Is He Arsenal Material?

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has been speaking about Ryo Miyaichi’s skill ever since the player joined two years ago, but what’s he really about?

Sure, we can all see that he’s a speedy guy who is perhaps even faster than Chamberlain or Walcott, which is not easy by any means, and we all saw that his technique on the ball when running is remarkable especially for his fresh age, but do you really think he’ll succeed at Arsenal?

Wenger loaned him out immediately after buying him to Feyenoord where the star let was very good throughout the season, but unfortunately for him the return to Arsenal also brought him an injury along with his work permit, so Wenger chose to loan him out again in order to give him time to recover and grow at another Premiership side, also getting used to the league’s pace.

Currently at Bolton, voices say that manager Owen Coyle was blown away by the youngster at his first appearance in the club’s jersey in a match against Preston which was held behind closed doors.

The real question is whether Ryo will be able to impose himself in Coyle’s first team thus also convincing Wenger to think about making him a starter next season when he’ll be back.

Should Arsenal Get A New Full-back?

Despite the fact that Arsenal weren’t able to transfer any full-backs in the January transfer window before it closed, the papers are still writing about the possibility of Arsenal going for all sorts of left-backs or right-backs.

Lyon’s Aly Cissokho, City’s Wayne Bridge or Saad Al-Mukhaini have all been linked with possible moves to the Emirates Stadium, but why?

Arsenal’s Sagna is back in full swing thankfully, Gibbs is about ready to get on the pitch allowing Vermaelen to claim back his spot in the center of the defence, and Santos and Jenkinson are to follow up, still having a bit of sideline time to spend though.

All in all Arsenal will have all of its 4 defenders by summer time, so why are the newspapers keeping that up? They’re even linking the Gunners to Vertonghen who would be an impressive addition, saying that he’ll be able to help the Gunners on the left side…and he’s not even a full-back!!

Santos and Gibbs are both top quality players who don’t need changing, and the same goes for Sagna. Let’s just hope that they’ll be injury free. What about Jenkinson? Is he good enough for Arsenal or should the manager think about finding a better replacement for Sagna, one who could actually create competition?

Walcott says that Oxlade-Chamberlain has given Fabio Capello a headache!

The Arsenal and England winger Theo Walcott believes that the emergence of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the last few weeks will give Fabio Capello a “good headache” when he has to decide who to take with him to this summers Euro 2012 tournament.

Walcott couldn’t hide his admiration for the 18 year-old and thinks The Ox will now keep his place in the Arsenal first team as well, despite his age. Walcott said: “He’s very direct and he likes to get at players, which is what any Arsenal fan likes to see,”

“He has plenty of confidence and is young – he’s a player who nobody in the Premier League has faced before so he’s totally new to the game.

“He’s learning every day in training and you can see now that he is getting games, which is very important. I think with the way he is playing at the moment he will keep that position.

“It was nice to see us both playing well and hopefully we can just continue to do it for Arsenal now. You never know what might happen with England.

“We have plenty of pace in this England team now. It’s not just Alex and me, it’s the likes of Stewart Downing and Ashley Young too – there’s so many I don’t want to leave anybody out.

“There are plenty of options for the manager [Fabio Capello] so he’s going to have a good headache I’m sure.”

Capello could certainly take all four of them to the Euros, but who would he actually pick to play when it comes to the crunch?

Arsenal Blog roundup – RVP to Barcelona, Rodrigo, Park, Hazard and other rumours

I have decided to do a daily roundup from all the Arsenal blogs out there. JustArsenalBlogs.com has the links to over 150 of them featured and there is no way that you can keep up to date with every single one, so I am just going to highlight some of the most interesting ones every day.

To start with Arsenal have got an undercover blogger in Barcelona, and he reckons that the club that stole Cesc Fabregas has started a campaign to take Robin Van Persie this summer. He makes some very good points and is worth a read….

Soccerplay.net reckons that Arsenal are chasing a young (Brazilian-born) Benfica striker called Rodrigo. Could be a typical wenger signing….

RedLondon has got some interesting pics of Arsene Wenger obviously dishing out advice to Fabio Capello, and it looks like he wants to be Prime Minister as well!….

JustArsenal.com reveals that Chu-Young Park wants out and Arsene Wenger says that Eden Hazard could play for Arsenal…..

The bad news today is that Emmanuel Frimpong is out for the rest of the season, courtesy of ArsenalBanter…

An American Arsenal Blog called 7amkickoff.com has an interesting article about a Snowstorm and Arsenal’s massive win at Blackburn. He is certainly an accomplished writer and worth a read….

Well thats it for today. I will try and write another Arsenal Blog roundup every day there is enough to warrant it.

Capello Fixating Over Chamberlain Debut

Arsenal’s rising star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain might become the next high potential national squad player for England sooner than everybody thought as Capello is planning on calling him up for the friendly match against Holland from the end of the month.

Capello seems set to get Chamberlain ready for this season’s EURO 2012, and the game against Holland is the perfect moment to do that.

“Obviously it [England call-up] would be very nice, but I have just got to keep my feet on the ground and take it step by step.”, declared Chamberlain.

“I am focusing on Arsenal at the moment, and am in the under-21 squad. All I can do is concentrate on what I am involved in.”

Having already won the U-21 call-up and proven his worth for the youth national team squad, Chamberlain is now readier than ever to make the move to the senior squad after some impressive appearances for Arsenal.

Those performances and also the first two goals in his career in the Premiership caught Capello’s eye and Chamberlain might continue his phenomenal rise with a call-up to the national squad. Sure, he’s not yet ready to help the squad in a real way, but till the summer a lot can change and the Gunner might even become a first team player if he keeps progressing at this rate. Do you think he’ll be able to catch a first team spot?

Wenger tipped for success as manager of France

The ex-Arsenal player Remi Garde, who is now coach at the French giants Lyon, believes that Arsene Wenger would be perfect to relace Laurent Blanc as manager of France after this summer’s Euro 2012 tournament.

“It could very well go to him,” Garde said “He’s very familiar with European football, world football and the players because he follows the French championship.

“He would, in the case of Laurent leaving, be an interesting choice for French football. He’s one of football’s greats.”

After Arsenal’s terrible start to this season, Wenger said in an interview that he would consider his position if he failed to meet his objective’s this year (Top Four?), but has since stated that he will fulfil his contract at contract at Arsenal which still has 18 months to run.

So if Arsenal don’t win anything this season or finish in the Top Four, perhaps Wenger would consider the France job as a sort of semi-retirement?

There is no doubt he would do a very good job…….
