The Review of Faith & International Affairs is not a peer reviewed journal of academic specialization. Rather it is a journal of rigorous analysis, timely reportage, and thoughtful commentary for both professionals and educated general audiences. Unsolicited manuscripts are accepted on a rolling basis at the discretion of the editor. The best guide to matters of style and substance is the archive of previously published issues.
The Review publishes three types of essays: Feature Articles, Commentaries, and Reviews. Articles should be 4,000-5,000 words in length and use footnotes as necessary. (Include all citations in footnotes; do not include a separate bibliography.) Commentaries should be 1,000-2,000 words in length and avoid using footnotes as much as possible. Reviews may consider any book(s) (nonfiction or fiction) or film about important issues at the intersection of faith and international affairs. The preferred length for reviews is 1,000 words but longer reviews are considered in select cases, according to the nature of the content under review.
