There is no map to life. Don’t get stuck in the rut of trying to follow that “map” or “roadmap” that your parents, friends, teachers, etc expect you to follow. Two MLS’s, Metrolist and Santa Barbara, Boot Diverse Solutions/Zillow

It happened — Metrolist and Santa Barbara booted Diverse Solutions (now owned by Zillow) from their list of approved IDX vendors. The Metrolist decision was reported by Geek Wire, while Inman picked up on the fact (premium content) that Santa Barbara had also pulled the plug. Eric Stegemann has a good read as well. Don’t Be Lazy. DO Something

I posted this comment on Jay’s “The Value Add of a Real Estate Agent” post, and thought I’d repost it here: I think a lot of what this comes down to, unfortunately, is that many agents (and the majority of people in general) are lazy. Everyone wants the “EASY” button. Instead of actually going and “doing something” like interpreting the Case Shiller market stats, writing a blog post, running your own MLS queries to generate unique market stats, building links, emailing your past clients, paying for SEO, etc — agents would rather sit around and bitch and whine about how unfair what everyone else is doing or why they can’t succeed.
