My latest D.I.Y. for Project Wedding involves handing each of your guests a little secret note along with their seating assignment. It would be a fun something extra for any party, especially a dinner party amongst friends. Little insights to let each guest know they are special to you! Simply write out a note and stick it in a pretty envelope. Place the notes in bright candy bowls for an extra sweet touch.

A reminder in the dreary days of winter that spring is coming soon! And I for one, definitely plan on making those floppy rabbit ears when it gets here.

Before Jenea was married last spring, her friends threw a shower with the most fun theme, wigs and wine! Each girl picked out a different wig to wear, we enjoyed wine together and then took to the town with the new bright do’s. If you are celebrating Valentine’s Day with girl friends this year it would be an awesome (and easy) last minute idea to pull off.
PS. Another fun girlfriend idea, have a fondue party at home!

In the midst of kid centric Valentine prep I’ve wanted to design something pretty to give away to the people I know over three feet tall. Using leather scraps (found for cheap at local craft stores), a pack of key rings and an exacto knife I put together these leather heart key chains. A little something sweet for the more grown up red heart crowd.
To make these key chains, cut out hearts and strips from textured leather sheets. Use the x-acto knife to “draw” a heart onto a single strip for a guy or other design. Press firmly for a good showing, but be sure not to tear the leather as you draw. Attach your leather piece directly onto the key ring or use a small amount of velvet ribbon to add a girlie touch. Thread the key chains onto simple card stock paper with a kind note for co-workers, teachers and friends.
These heart key chains would also make great wedding favors, see here.

I spent the weekend sick in bed with bronchitis. Although it was not what I had planned for the time, I tried to enjoy the incredibly rare chance to rest. I watched the entire first season of Downton Abbey (thanks for the twitter recommendation!) and caught up on a stack of magazines I’ve been meaning to read.
I also updated the inspiration (link) section of the sidebar to more accurately share what I read and love each week. There is now a small list of favorite links from the past week and a button that will take you to a complete page of blogs, magazines and books that I continually love. Check it out and let me know if you see something missing, or something you love that I must get to know.

After plastering the flowers for Valentine’s Day, I became a bit obsessed with the medium and started grabbing random objects from around my home to dip. This simple fruit basket was one of my favorites! I also plastered a couple bows, a cutting board and a paper star but stopped myself before grabbing the television. It was just too easy… mix, dip and pin up to dry.
This weekend I am putting together our Valentine cards, it’s the first year the kids will have a real party! I’ll be sharing what we’ve come up with next week:) Have a happy weekend.
PS. My thoughts on why blogging is a crazy roller coaster ride and thanks so much for your awesome support of the latest issue of Styled. magazine! More exciting magazine updates coming soon.

I purchased a small box of plaster last week and went to work dipping a sampling of bright fuax flowers. Mixing + dipping my varieties took about ten minutes and then I hung them upside down for a day to dry. The flowers have become the center of our Valentine’s Day decor. This pink, single stem came out as my favorite! What a perfectly fun (and unique) bouquet they would make wrapped in brown craft paper.
