Layers of Lines, Layers of Meaning: Thick Embroidery with Rebecca Ringquist
April 14-15, 2012
10:00 - 5:00, both days including catered lunch
Registration: $385
Note: class is limited to 15 participants, early registration is encouraged
In this drawing and embroidery workshop, participants will begin by making a series of fast drawings with pencils and markers. We'll then explore various ways of translating these marks into slower, hand embroidered drawings and fast, thick machine stitched lines. Silk organza, found embroidery, and fancy embroidered marks will lead up to pieces that end up being several layers thick and full of color, line, and meaning. An emphasis on more is more will be encouraged! No drawing or embroidery experience required.
