ViewSonic launches ViewPad 10s tablet in India for Rs. 17,000
February 8, 2012: The mobile device maker, ViewSonic has launched a new 10.1-inch display tablet in the Indian mobile market with the price tag of Rs. 17,000. This tablet is named as ViewPad 10s, which is powered by Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor and runs Android Froyo OS. The device will be available with popular retail chain, Reliance Digital, throughout the country and it will also be available through ViewSonic retailers.
The budget friendly, the Nvidia’s Tegra 2 dual core processor of ViewPad 10s has two independent processor cores as well as an ultra low power consuming graphics chip from Nvidia. The display with LED backlit and resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels is capable of playing videos of full HD 1080p resolutions.
Google’s Android Froyo OS is bit outdated, but manages to give fully functional 3G connectivity to the tablet. The device has 1.3MP front camera for video conferencing and the rear camera is absent.
The device is equipped with 512MB of DDR2 SD RAM and also 512MB of internal storage memory. The internal storage capacity is not sufficient considering the other competitors’ products offering memory up to minimum 16GB or even more. However, the micro SD card slot is expandable up to 32GB of memory. Thus, ViewSonic is all set to gain grounds in India with its tablets at affordable and competitive prices.
