FanFest is two days away now and if you aren't excited about baseball season yet I think you will be after Saturday. One of the links below will have all the details as to what to expect Saturday and let you know when you should get down to the park, etc. etc. In addition to all that the Padres are doing, Steve Adler will be hosting Friarhood Radio directly from The Tilted Kilt right outside the ballpark. He will have Cody Decker joining the show, which should make for some great entertainment. Last year I spent all day there getting autographs. This year I don't expect to stay as long, but we'll see what happens. Here are your Padres links for today:

MISSIONS OUTFIELDER Daniel Robertson TO HOST INAGURAL

SHARING THE DREAM’

Charity event in the Alamo City benefiting Kinetic Kids, Inc.

San Antonio – San Antonio Missions outfielder DaniE. Robertson has teamed up with Kinetic Kids, Inc. for his inaugural “Sharing the Dream” charity event on Saturday, February 25, 2012. The event will take place at the University of the Incarnate Word softball field with the camp  registration beginning at 3:00 p.m. Victor Butler of the Dallas Cowboys, James Dockery of the Cleveland Browns, the Spurs Coyote and the Missions mascot, Ballapeno, are all scheduled to appear.

Kinetic Kids, Inc. provides age-appropriate recreational sports and activities, facilitated by occupational, physical and recreational therapists, for local children with special needs, with a goal to improve their health, fitness and mobility.  Proceeds from Sharing the Dream will assist Kinetic Kids with program scholarships, equipment and facility expenses, awards for each participant, and much more.

Sharing the Dream activities will begin with a hitting and fielding session for camp participants, ages 6-13, as they interact with the special guests. Texas Road House (?) will provide dinner following the opening session. The event will conclude with a celebrity softball game, starting at 7pm, featuring national celebrities, event sponsors and San Antonio Missions staff.  Players and guests will be available for autographs before and/or after the celebrity game, and raffle items will be auctioned off during the softball game.

The costs to attend the events are:

  • $20 for the instructional camp only
  • $10 for dinner (catered by Texas Roadhouse) and watch celebrity game
  • $500 to play in the softball game

*All proceeds from the event will go to Kinetic Kids, Inc.

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today released details surrounding 2012 FanFest presented by Bloomberg Sports, including a complete schedule of clinics, forums and autograph signings.

The free annual event returns to Petco Park this Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012. Gates open to the general public at 10:00 a.m. Padres Season Ticket Holders receive exclusive early access from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Season Ticket Holders will be sent printable early entry passes via email.

Fans who are not Season Ticket Holders can pre-register at no cost at www.padres.com/fanfest for a special pass allowing them to enter at 9:30 a.m. In addition to receiving an early entry pass, fans who pre-register online will be entered to win exclusive experiences. Those experiences include a spot in a special autograph session with Padres legend Trevor Hoffman, and a chance to participate in hitting and pitching clinics (for kids 14 and under) with Padres players. Padres Season Ticket Holders will automatically be entered to win these experiences.
