Joanna's DIY Bedroom
The hub and I recently photographed Joanna Goddard's lovely bedroom makeover -- head on over to Refinery29 to see more..
A house in progress.
So we're working on it. Trying to get this three bedroom ranch house into a cozy home, but we are still a ways off. I thought I'd share a few photos with you, proof that I actually have a house :)
And meet our new (old) girl Bandi. Dustin's mother recently moved into a condo and wasn't able to take her 15-year-old border collie with her, so we brought this girl into our house. She's been an outside dog her whole life but has had no problem being spoiled with indoor heat and a cozy bed.
NYC House Tour
The hub and I had the pleasure of photographing this awesome apartment in queens earlier this year for Joanna. It's goregous, right? Head on over to see more of this sun-filled home.

A Dining Space
In our little house that we're renting in North Carling this summer, we have something that we've never had before...a dining room. Astonishing, right? Of course it's not that strange to be without one in NYC, but even when we were stationed in Savannah, Ga and Chapel Hill, NC -- still, no dining room. You could imagine that I'm a tad bit excited to have a more normal dining experience at home and I've been on the hunt to create that room.
Here are a few things that have peeked my interest but I'm afraid it is leaning a little too modern. The hub and I really try to blend the old with the new when we decorate, so I'm a little stuck on which direction to go in. Any thoughts out there on blending styles?
1- rug (west elm) 2- wire chair (modernica) 3 - wood table (ikea) 4- pendant (west elm) 5 - salt/pepper (terrain)
Nadia's Kitchen
I'm sort of in love with this photo of Nadia Izruna's (of the label Nadinoo) kitchen. It feels so peaceful and as if you could stand looking out of that window for hours.

Handmade Coffee Table
We've been ready for a while to get a new coffee table so we settled on just making one for ourselves. We picked up two pieces of reclaimed wood from Build it Green NYC, a few pipes from the local hardware store and spent about an hour putting it all together.
A few in-progress shots in low-light using film.
