DIY Project: Organic Modern Tablescape

by Dani of Studio Fleurette

spacer

I have had people across the country and around the world ask me how to recreate this simple organic (but still modern) tablescape design for their events. The design is easy and looks beautiful for a head table at a wedding or for a dinner party. I created this table for an autumn soiree, but it would look great during any season. You can easily customize the flowers and the detailing on the table runner and get a completely different design, as well! Phalaenopsis orchids work well because they are a large but light flower for a thin branch. These orchids can easily be found in shades of pink and hold up well without water so the design can be created a day in advance. Interested in learning how to put the look together? Read on!

DIY Project: Valentine’s Day Dessert Table Postcard Printable

spacer

Good morning, everyone! With one week to go until Valentine’s Day, today I’m happy to share a postcard Valentine printable I illustrated. They print out at a 4×6 size, so you can either pop them in an envelope and mail them as cards or just mail them as is as a true postcard. You can also simply use them as valentines to hand out, of course! Whichever way you choose to use it, I hope you enjoy it! Download the PDF here.

This post is part of  the TomKat Studio‘s 14 Days of Sweet Valentine’s Ideas. Thanks to Kim for featuring it on her blog (here), and please hop on over to check out the rest of the inspiring series!

Living in Color #09: Graphic Glamour Bedroom

Today on my Hellobee post, I’m sharing a nursery inspired by Kate Spade’s stores. While I was building the board, I was really loving the gold, white and black part of the palette, and decided to do an “adult” bedroom with a similar feel. I am head over heels for it, so I hope you adore it as much as I do!

Styling Studio: February 6, 2012

Today’s tip: if you’re like me, you do a lot of paper crafting and inevitably end up with a bunch of scraps that you’re convinced you’ll never use again. Instead of tossing them out, pull out your hand held hole puncher and create a bunch of confetti out of the leftover pieces. Put each confetti color in a separate jar or container and save it until your next event. By separating them by color, it’ll be easy for you to create a confetti mix based on your next party’s palette, and by using scraps of paper with different finishes and patterns, you’ll also create a mix with a lot of dimension and flair.

DIY Project: Valentine’s Day Sugar Giftable

spacer

Yesterday, I promised you we’d have something to do with the yummy vanilla sugar I blogged about, and here it is!  I’m not really “big” into celebrating Valentine’s Day, I’ll admit, but when the gift is really simple and quick to make, there’s no reason not to whip one up to give to the people in your life whom you appreciate – and it really doesn’t get any easier than this.

Condiment Recipe: Valentine’s Day Vanilla Sugar

spacer

Happy Early Valentine’s Day! Today’s recipe will be paired with a printable I’ll feature tomorrow. Infused with vanilla and dyed a light pink color, this sugar makes a great Valentine’s Day gift and is perfect in tea, coffee, or even in baking. If you opt for a coarser sugar, it could also be used to decorate some festive cookies.
