I saw this video forever ago, and then just the other day listened to the song and realized I love it. Then I realized I don’t actually listen to the song when watching this video, because it’s the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen.

But it’s a really good song.

A history of Fritos

Excuse me, I’ll be back after I eat 46 bags of Fritos. Which are, without question, the best chips in the world.

Mike Birbiglia is one of the, like, three funniest people in the world. His movie looks amazing (and according to people at Sundance, is amazing).

"On Feb. 5, I woke up, went for a run, showered, had a yogurt smoothie, took the kids to school and voted for Barack Obama. Only one of those facts is worth your knowing, and it is the one that most journalists would never tell you."

The Case for Full Disclosure

I was digging through a folder of articles I saved from various magazines, and came across this one from James Poniewozik at TIME. I loved the sentiment then, and still do now.

500px

So I’ve started using 500px for saving and sharing photos. I LOVE the site, because it’s designed to show off the photos and make them so huge that I want to take pretty ones to show it off. I’ll be (hopefully) posting a fair amount there, so come friend me and tell me how terrible my pictures are!

"The right claims the stimulus failed because it didn’t bring unemployment down to 8 percent in its first year, as predicted by Obama’s transition economic team. Instead, it peaked at 10.2 percent. But the 8 percent prediction was made before Obama took office and was wrong solely because it relied on statistics that guessed the economy was only shrinking by around 4 percent, not 9. Remove that statistical miscalculation (made by government and private-sector economists alike) and the stimulus did exactly what it was supposed to do. It put a bottom under the free fall. It is not an exaggeration to say it prevented a spiral downward that could have led to the Second Great Depression."

Andrew Sullivan: How Obama’s Long Game Will Outsmart His Critics

Andrew Sullivan has a habit of being right, and I think this Newsweek piece is a great example. Intensely opinionated, sure, but he makes a point no one else is making, and I think he’s dead on.

One of ESPN’s finest commercials. And a LOT of good bets to file away for when the Giants win the Super Bowl.

"Talent renders the whole idea of rehearsal meaningless; when you find something at which you are talented, you do it (whatever it is) until your fingers bleed or your eyes areready to fall out of your head. Even when no one is listening (or reading, or watching), every outing is a bravura performance, because you as the creator are happy. Perhaps even ecstatic. That goes for reading and writing as well as for playing a musical instrument, hitting a baseball, or running the four-forty."

— From a wonderful excerpt of On Writing, by Stephen King.
