About

Meet Dave and Deb from Toronto, Canada. Married for 14 years they have always lived a life less ordinary. It was only a year into their relationship when they relocated from Toronto to Vancouver to pursue their dreams of being famous musicians. While things didn’t exactly go as planned, they did fall into the booming film business instead. Dave as a Rigging Gaffer and Deb as a Make-Up Artist.

It was after moving back to Toronto that they decided to buy a house and focus on their careers. The Toronto Film Industry was thriving and summers were spent working on Hollywood Blockbuster movies as part of the crew. They’d work 14 to 16 hour days dreaming of their next vacation. Having months off at a time during the winters, they escaped the Canadian cold to explore such exotic lands as Asia, Africa, South and Central America.

Soon, travel defined them more than their careers and they searched for ways to turn their passion into a lifestyle.

It was signing up for the Tour d’Afrique, (the world’s longest cycling race) that they finally took the step to turning their passion into a full time career. Deb was women’s champion of the race and Dave won the prestigious title of Every “Fabulous” Inch of cycling Africa.

Living by Their motto “Adventure is For Everyone” they prove that you don’t have to be a professional athlete, expert mountaineer or superhuman iron man to be an adventurer!

Travelling slow and spending weeks at a time each country, they have managed to immerse themselves into the culture and adventures of 55 nations. From trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal, Practcing Yoga in India, Studying Muay Thai in Thailand and joining the Adams Peak Pilgrimage in Sri Lanka they don’t just hop into a country to gain a stamp on their passport, they get to know a place and it’s people.

Travel as a Couple

Dave and Deb are inseparable. For years they searched for ways to work, travel and live together and now they have fulfilled their dreams. Since their first trip to Thailand, they have climbed, paddled, hiked and biked their way through 5 continents doing everything from trekking to the Pinnacles of Borneo to enjoying a mud bath in Vietnam. They are constantly looking for a new adventure or unique way to discover the world.

By traveling as a couple, they have found that they can explore the world with a broad view by seeing it from two different perspectives.  This has allowed them to experience different activities that they would otherwise avoid if traveling alone.

Truth

They aim to tell the truth about travel. The truth about travel as a couple and the truth about being on the road for extended periods of time. The good, the bad and the unexpected. Dave and Deb share every detail of their adventures around this great world, even the embarrassing moments. They will share their opinion of a place, company or business even if it isn’t the most popular of opinions.  What they love is the fact that people can share their thoughts on theplanetd and let them know if they agree or not instantly.

Discussions are encouraged at this website, where everyone can learn and grow from one another.
