The Woman in the Mirror

spacer

I look at myself in the mirror and I see a woman full of dreams and hopes, but it doesn't mean a thing without God.

It is only God who opens doors that no man can close (Rev. 3). If God is for me who can be against me? I'm futile without God.

I do you a disservice if I can not write for the great and complete joy of writing for the One that enables me to write.

I don't have it all together. No one does.

I won't apologize for my beliefs. The world is evil enough and they don't apologize for the immodesty and profanity so prevalent today. There is no fear of God; they mock Him. And. the. church remains silent.

I believe in One God. I believe there is only one way to God; His name is Jesus Christ.

I believe in the home as the center of my life.

I believe God will make a way for any woman who wants to be home with her husband and children.

I believe we make a lot of excuses; and because of it - we won't see the complete glory of God.

I believe mercy triumphs over judgement.

I believe the Word of God to be accurate and true.

I believe in protecting my right to homeschool.

I love wearing skirts and dresses, but sometimes I enjoy wearing sweat pants.

Most days I smell like diaper ointment and spit up instead of Channel No. 5. I believe it's okay.

I think some of the most beautiful women are those that work hard with their hands, serve their husbands without shame, love their children unconditionally, and are strengthened by knowing who they are in Christ.

I believe femininity has nothing to do with a dress, but everything to do with your heart.

I believe that my identity has nothing to do with this blog, my husband, my children, or my friends, but everything to do with passionately believing what God says about me.

I believe love never fails.

Polished Corner Stones Giveaway by Doorposts

That our daughters may be as cornerstones polished after the similitude of a palace.

Here is a book for anyone who has daughters. Polished Cornerstones contains hundreds of practical activities and Bible study ideas to help you and your daughters prepare for their future roles as helpers, wives, mothers, church members, and citizens.

When Daniel and Doorposts contacted me to review Polished Cornerstones I immediately said yes. They have incredible materials for families ranging from character training to play items that will inspire your little ones to act out godly virtues.

The projects in Polished Cornerstones are designed for girls of all ages. Each chapter in the book is divided into three sections: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The three categories of projects in each chapter are designed to correspond to three seasons of development in a girl's life.

Pam Forster, author of Polished Cornerstones, reminds us to approach the material in the book in the same way you would approach a shopping mall or department store. No need to start at the beginning, working your way straight through to the end. You will only have to do a few projects in each chapter, and these can be completed over the course of several years.

Choose the chapters you want to study and stay on the topic for a month or so; longer if need be. There is a project page where you can record your daughter's chapter, page, and memory verse for the month. Mrs. Forster gives examples on how to fill out the forms in the book.

The projects that follow in this book aim to prepare our daughters to be:

  • Godly young ladies
  • Godly single women
  • Godly wives
  • Godly mothers
  • Godly neighbors
  • Godly friends
  • Godly church members
  • Godly citizens

I love the fact that there is plenty of emphasis on scripture memorization. It's so important that our daughters be saturated in God's word.

Some tips to memorizing scripture:
  1. Copy God's word
  2. Read it several times from various translations
  3. Rewrite the passage in your own words. What does it mean?
  4. Record a specific way in which you can change your actions or attitudes based on the teaching of the passage.
Now for the wonderful part - Daniel and Doorposts are generously giving away a copy of Polished Cornerstones to one select lady.

Enjoy, and I hope you win. Enter using the Rafflecopter below for entries.
