Product reviews are all the rage today in affiliate marketing.  They give buyers an idea of what to expect from the product and a link where they can buy it.  If you know how to create good product reviews, you’ll boost your sales.

 

But most people don’t understand the basics of writing them.  Your product review shouldn’t sell to the customer; it should provide them with information.  They’re not searching for reviews in order to see a sales page.  They want information and if you provide that information, you’ve got a better chance at getting conversions.

Well, Google’s done it again.  They made improvements to last year’s ‘Caffeine’ algorithm change in October 2011.  These changes are designed to filter out garbage and bring only the best stuff to the top of the SERPs.  While that’s wonderful news for everybody using the search engine giant, it’s a huge headache for lots of webmasters.

The aim of the latest update is to get rid of results that are old and out-of-date.  For example, if you search for ‘earthquake’ and ‘Japan,’ you don’t want to find news about an earthquake from 10 years ago.  You’re probably looking for information on the one that struck northern Japan last spring.  It’s frustrating when you find old, outdated info, and that’s what they’re trying to weed out.    Read more...
