Artists statement
The landscape for anatomy presents a study of structure, form, and function to conjure an organism based in humanity. This application of human traits and aspects suggests life and introduces possible stories and travels. Another mythology, as a result of a contemporary mindset for a quick-fix, mish-mash, plastic culture.
The beasts and characters of other cultures such as those of feudal Japan, modern architecture & design, present aspects of disciplines that stew up a brutality – a violence. This is a constant in everything in motion. Movement is action, action is violent, given whether the motion has any sense of confrontation. In this, the discipline of compassion can also come about.
This is where my art is cemented and cut from.
