DSP-DPA Compute Board

The IRIS DSP-DPA (Digital Signal Processing- Data Processing & Acquisition) Compute Board is based on Cyclone II FPGA from Altera Corp. and a high performance DSPs from Texas Instrument. The Board contains two Cyclone II EP2C70 FPGA providing a user 140,000 LE (Logic Equivalent) to ...

Our Market

spacer We offer a leading-edge, next-generation ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and SOC (System on a Chip) prototyping solutions.

Our Solution

spacer Our prototyping system consists of a set of interconnected, very-large capacity FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays). The user design is mapped on to the FPGAs, to enable high speed functional verification. Our newest generation of patent-pending family of products is based on Altera’s Stratix IV FPGAs. Our solutions can nominally run simulations in the range of 100 to 150MHz. Design capacity scales from 15 to 240 Million usable ASIC gates . Therefore, it offers the ability to boot operating system, run system diagnostics and application-level software – all before an ASIC/SOC is committed to silicon. Imagine, if you could simulate the reception of a live phone call on an IRIS prototype model of your next-generation Smartphone –- well before the chip is taped out!

Competitive Advantage

spacer Due to rapidly increasing FPGA capacity and FPGA software capabilities, our latest generation of ASIC/SOC prototyping solutions offer a superb price/performance and scalability, as compared to any other product in the market today. Our newest offering routinely runs in excess of 50 times faster and at a fraction of the cost of a typical hardware emulator — with embedded debug hooks, unlike any other prototyping solution. In contrast to other solutions with proprietary hardware interfaces that thwart extensibility, IRIS system offers open, high-performance, Altera HSMC connectors — users can extend their prototyping solutions with daughter cards sourced from IRIS or Altera 3rd party partners.

Make vs. Buy

spacer As vendor-supplied ASIC/System prototyping solution such as that from IRIS have matured to offer utmost flexibility and accessibility, engineering teams now find it easier and convenient to simply adopt such vendor supplied solutions. To them, it no longer makes business sense to invest in a parallel, in-house, resource-hogging ASIC/System prototyping effort.
