about meg

spacer I’m a 26-year-old writer from Maryland who enjoys the relative chaos that is figuring out where I belong in the world. Amongst many things, I’m a reader, editor, columnist, daughter, sister, friend, photographer, girlfriend, scarf maker, anglophile and dog lover.

A graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.A. in English Language & Literature, I’m now a full-time editor and columnist for three local newspapers in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. My personal column  reaches more than 50,000 readers in Southern Maryland.

In 2010 and 2011, write meg! was shortlisted for “Best Written Book Blog” and “Best Eclectic Book Blog” during Book Blogger Appreciation Week, and I have served as a fiction judge for the Indie Lit Awards since 2010. This May, I was a panelist at the Book Blogger Convention in New York City.

In my non-blogging hours, I can be found working on my next novel or wandering the D.C. area with camera in hand. My hair is disheveled, curly and my most recognizable feature. I’m obsessed with pink and can never get enough of that most sacred of hues, and I have an unhealthy obsession with macro photography. You’ll know me if you see me. And if you see me? Come say hi.
