Whatever Friday {on a Thursday??}

Happy...Thursday!?

Yes, I know it's only Thursday. And this post is called Whatever Friday. But I have a reason for posting it today. I promise it's a good one. Read on, then come back tomorrow for an awesome recipe, mmkay?

1. My husband doesn't like Biscoff spread. How do we go on from here?

2. My daughter went to a Father/Daughter Dance. I cried a little, then ate to drown my sorrows.

3. I got a nasty comment last week, on my Peanut Butter Football post. I'm guessing it was from a Giant's lover? I wasn't upset; on the contrary, I find it funny. It's like I've arrived or something. I have a "hater."

4. February is birthday month. First up, my MIL. I made her this little, fat-free cake.

Just kidding. It's not little.

5. Tomorrow kicks off my daughter's birthday extravaganza. Her actual birthday isn't until the 19th, which will be celebrated in a three-part family celebration: with his family, with just the three of us, and a third with my parents (all with cake, I presume). But tomorrow I have to bring a treat to her class to celebrate her Star Week/Birthday. And then her friend party is Saturday. Oh, and next week is Valentine's Day and my mom's birthday. God help my thighs.

6. The M&M commercial during the Superbowl? The one with the I'm Sexy... song? Best. Commercial. Ever.

7. On that note, for those of you who know my husband and know what his hair looked like in the 70s, can you please please please convince him to be LMFAO for Halloween next year? I wanted to do a side-by-side comparison here, but thought better of it because I enjoy being married.

8. Hey! I'm finally on Instagram. Are you? Come follow me (crazyforcrust). I'll follow back! It's my favorite new time-suck.

9. Come back tomorrow for a yummy recipe. It involves chocolate. And a candy bar. And my witty commentary.

Happy Thursday!

Pretzel Toffee

spacer

Last Friday night, my husband took my daughter to the Father-Daughter dance for Girl Scouts.

The night before the dance, he asked if he could take her to dinner. She accepted and they decided on Chili's.

While she was getting ready for the big night, he presented her with flower hair clips to wear.

I swear, I thought I'd have no heart left, it was melting left and right.

At the dance, they posed for a prom-style photo.

He was even a good sport and did Dancing with the Stars lifts with her over and over until he was practically crippled from the effort.

It's times like these that make me misty-eyed and realize that she's growing up. Last week, Girl Scout Dance. Next week, the Father-Daughter dance at her wedding.

Sigh.

It's a good thing I keep treats like this Pretzel Toffee around for emotional heart-melting emergencies.

Pretzels. Brown sugar buttery caramelly stuff. And chocolate. Pretty good for drowning one's (happy) sorrows, no?

Crazy Sweet Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to the party.

Y'all are on Pinterest, right? It's one of my new favorite time-sucks. I'm totally in love with it, and I'm sure you are too.

I read this post yesterday and then followed it up by reading this one at The Scrappy Housewife. They were all about Pinterest Ethics, or what has been dubbed the Pintegrity Pledge.

Be sure to click on over and read about it. It talks about making sure to only pin stuff from the original source and making sure repins are done the same. I'm not perfect; I know many of my pins aren't done right, because I just hit "repin" without checking. I'm going to do my best to check on that from now on.

This is all somewhat relevant to me right now because this past weekend I checked out all the pins from my website on Pinterest. It was pretty cool seeing everything that has been pinned. Made me happy and giggly and stuff. But one of the pins (for my Oreo Crust Mix) had the entire recipe IN the pin. Making it irrelevant to visit me at all. Which kinda defeats the purpose, you know? Anyway, I'm going to try and do better about my pins. Will you join me?

Speaking of pins, you'll want to click through to some of these amazing features and pin them! Because they are really awesome...
