Hot off the Press {in the woods}

These custom invitations were so much fun to create. The couple was married in the Fingerlakes in NY, and they really wanted the invitations to reflect that, as well as their love for nature and the outdoors. Each piece was printed with wood-grain on the back. We hand letterpress printed using a neutral color palette.

I had so much fun with the typography on this one.

We did a hand drawn map of the area since the wedding was a destination wedding.

What do you guys think of this one?

Mom Monday {DIY valentines}

So I have to be completely honest I think I may have been a tad ambitious in having a full crafternoon with my 19 month old. I was reading some blogs that were mentioning crafts for 18 month old children and I had a full fledged panic attack. Was I late at introducing crafts!? Well I figured I should get started right away, so I gathered a bunch of paper, glitter, rubber stamps, and stamp pads. I was going to make valentines with Piper. She liked it just fine at first.

But then I revealed the activity that involved fingerprint hearts, and once that ink was on her hands, it was a disaster. Pink ink was everywhere, and Piper is not a fan of getting her hands dirty. So suffice it to say I came out with 2 sets of fingerprint hearts, and I made the rest of the valentines myself during her nap. I had a great time, and I think this would be a great craft for kids just a bit older.

spacer

Here are the final results. I made 15 total valentines, and each one completely unique. I had made these fun photos of Piper in photoshop with little hearts, and happy valentines day messages. Aren’t her heart glasses the cutest things!? So anyway I think the recipients will love the valentines, and I truly think the fingerprint heart valentines would be the most perfect craft for you guys with your toddlers. I would LOVE to hear if you try this. And if anyone has suggestions of crafts for kids around Piper’s age I am all ears. Happy mom monday darlings! xoxo

Major inspiration day

I am coming off of a major brainstorming session with Emily and all I can say is I am so inspired it’s ridiculous. I cannot wait to reveal all that we have in store for you…but in the meantime I thought I would leave you with some words of wisdom from the oh so fabulous Ben Silbermann of Pinterest.

I have just listened to Ben’s keynote speech from Alt Summit and this really resonated with me…”Be close to the people that inspire you”. It really does make all the difference in the world when you surround yourself with like-minded creatives….happy inspired Thursday my lovelies!

Mom Monday {DIY mobile station}

When I spotted this idea over on the fab On to Baby I knew I instantly had to share it with you guys. I am always looking for unique, fun DIY craft ideas for baby showers, and this one is one of my favorites I have ever seen. Each guest had the chance to decorate a piece that would adorn the baby’s mobile! How adorable is that?

This was put on by such an amazing group of creatives and took place at The Collection Event Studio an amazing space for events like this!

Does this not make you want to do this right now!?

Valentine’s Day…make it special!

My perfect valentine’s day does not involve a reservation at the hottest restaurant, or even a night out on the town. My husband and I usually spend valentines day at home. It doesn’t hurt that he is an amazing cook, so he usually cooks up something fabulous. But I get in on the cooking action too. One year, we each prepared 2 courses and revealed them with menus and all that night. Served with a bottle of wine we had picked up on a trip to Napa, it was pure perfection. Think about what you would truly enjoy as a couple, and make it happen. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but make it special!

I would love to hear what you guys are planning, or what you have done in the past! It’s always fun to hear. Another perfect idea I think…Breakfast in bed!
