Fire Protection Systems
Passive fire protection systems, or firestopping, seals and compartmentalizes room between fire-rated walls and floors. This important step in building
construction saves lives. When firestopping a building, all through penetrations, such as cables or pipes, and joints, such as head-of-wall, that run through
or are connected to a fire-rated wall or floor need to be sealed to prevent fire and smoke from spreading to the rest of the building. In addition to saving lives,
firestopping can limit property damage in the event of a fire.
Tremco is a leader in the passive fire protection products, services and solutions needed by firestop, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, insulation and
drywall contractors throughout North America. The TREMstop line of fire protection products features sealants, intumescents, devices, cast-in-place
and forming material with more than 400 independently tested fire-rated systems for through penetrations and joints. In addition to this broad product line
and extensive system library, engineering judgments for specific applications are generally provided within 24 hours. Tremco firestopping solutions also
include submittal packages, installation or general training and on-site technical support.
