Our adventures demonstrate the work of the Marion Institute in many different capacities, from helping strengthen communities in Costa Rica to trekking the Himalayas to deliver fleece to disadvantaged families. Connecting with our programs and serendipity projects allows you to see firsthand how we are empowering individuals by offering practical and visionary solutions that ultimately address problems at the root cause.

The Marion Institute is a tax-exempt organization located in Marion, MA, founded in 1993 and is dedicated to identifying, promoting and incubating programs and serendipity projects, both on a global and local level, that seek to enhance life for the Earth and its inhabitants.

Physical Ratings:

1- Easy: Expect moderate walking and hiking which fitting to your level.
 These trips can be enjoyed by anyone in good health. A basic level of fitness is required to carry personal luggage on and off transportation and up hotel steps. Your itinerary includes easy to moderate walking and sightseeing. Please note that some stairs in the temples of Angkor are steep, can become quite strenuous and can be a little daunting for vertigo sufferers. However it is always possible to avoid them to ensure that the temples can be enjoyed by everyone.

2- Moderate: These trips involve some activity but nothing too strenuous. Many of the tours will require walking for 45min-1hr 30min. There will be some light hiking tours but you can always opt out for this segment. Be prepared to have the occasional hard traveling day (a long journey in basic transportation).

3- Strenuous: These trips include some more challenging activities. You can expect walking, hiking, trekking, up to 8 hours/day to in potentially high altitudes. You may also be hiking over 8 hours a day through rough and cold terrain. A good level of physical fitness is required to ensure you enjoy your trip.
