Names to Know

Founder and Editor

Allen Kenney

Growing up in college football hotbed Oklahoma in the '80s in a home split along Bedlam lines, Allen Kenney's pro-OU dad got to him first. Despite lighting out for school in the college football wasteland of the Northeast at the age of 18, his passion for the game never waned. After graduating from Villanova University in 2001, Allen bumped around the country for a bit before settling temporarily in Chicago to complete a master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Since then, he has worked as a writer and investigative reporter in Washington, D.C., and recently completed a part-time MBA program at The George Washington University School of Business.

Featured Columnists

JJ Worthington

The young gun of the crew, JJ Worthington grew up in the Red River battleground of Dallas with an early fixation on college football. His first brush with true love came his freshman year at OU in the form of a special rookie tailback from Palestine, Texas. From that August day forward, he was obsessed with one thing: Sooner football. After being blasted out of Norman with dynamite, JJ landed a job working in college football for a few years. Recently, he decided he wasn't in enough debt and returned to graduate school in the frozen tundra of the American Midwest. At some point, they'll give him an MBA and a masters in sports administration, and he'll hopefully return back to collegiate athletics.

Native State

Native State's earliest Sooner memory is watching Marcus Dupree give the guys at Tecmo Bowl the blueprint for how Bo Jackson would look running through popcorn kernel defenders. Raised on the red dirt of the Wichita Mountains, Native gorged on Barry Switzer sound bytes and gaudy Sooner blowouts. He protested the end of the Great One's coaching tenure by attending Stanford University, where he witnessed Bill Walsh's West Coast Offense first hand. He currently resides in Houston, training for the World Series of Poker, all the while flaunting the Sooner legacy all over the flat expanse of the Texas wasteland.
