Since 2006 we’ve been providing a daily dose of film news, reviews, and commentary, all presented with an honest, fun-loving and sarcastic edge. Covering the art house to the mainstream and everything in between, the site continues to grow in leaps and bounds, so be sure to add us to your daily travels around the web!

spacer Sean is a Computer Science graduate and a part-time writer who is perpetually plugged in to pop culture. Video game programmer by day, he enjoys pondering and writing about movies and media in his spare time. Sean is the webmaster and editor of Film Junk, and in his spare time he also runs the Muzak For Cybernetics MP3 blog, his own personal blog Media Bytes, and contributes to The Documentary Blog.

Jay Cheel

spacer Jay is a film school graduate who has been making his own movies ever since he was a kid. He recently completed a short horror film called Colore Non Vedenti, and a short documentary about time travel called Obsessed & Scientific. He is currently working on his first feature length film, a documentary called Beauty Day. Jay writes for Film Junk, co-hosts the podcast, and produces and edits all of our video content. He also runs The Documentary Blog.

Greg Gaspari

spacer Greg is a broadcasting graduate who made a name for himself as “The Gasman” on 97.7 HTZ FM. His love of film brings him to the Toronto International Film Festival every year, but his hatred for Toronto’s sports teams causes him grief every time he sets foot in T Dot. He also can be found emceeing many pay-per-view and film events at the Empire Studio 8 in St. Catharines. Greg is a regular co-host for the Film Junk Podcast.

Reed Farrington

spacer Reed Farrington aka Darth Nameless is a mysterious personality within the Film Junk Universe. He is an obsessive collector, particularly of all things Star Trek, and is a huge science-fiction fan. In addition to starring in the hit Film Junk short films The Running Tunnel and Colore Non Vedenti, Reed now also co-hosts a non-movie-related podcast with Jay called Cantankerous and writes a weekly Star Trek column called Treknobabble. Shannon Hood

spacer Shannon is a rabid cinema fan, and has been reviewing movies for over two years. Her work has appeared in print in The Kansas City Star and KC Magazine, and on multiple online outlets. She also runs a pop culture site called Frothygirlz.com, and participates in a weekly podcast called Almost Locals Only. She loves horror films, South Korean cinema, and art house fare, but she ends up covering most of the mainstream stuff. She is a mom of two, and an instrument wielding Dental Hygienist, so if you don’t play nice in the comments section she’ll come after you with her sickle scaler! She is a member of the Kansas City Film Critics Circle, the Online Film Critics Society, and has covered SWSX and Fantastic Fest film festivals.
