Shirataki noodles are thin, low carb translucent traditional Japanese noodles. They are also sometimes called yam noodles. They are mostly composed of a dietary fiber called glucomannan and contain very few calories and carbohydrates (sometimes even zero).
They do not have much flavor by themselves, but will absorb any sauce or spice that you combine with them. Shirataki noodles are made from yam flour, which comes from the roots of the yam-like Konjac plant grown in Japan and China.
Dukan Diet Shirataki Noodles are made in the USA, and will soon be Kosher certified (approval pending by OU—Orthodox Union).
The soluble fiber found in Shirataki Noodles slows digestion and prolongs the sensation of fullness and is an essential part of any weight loss program. Replacing one meal per day with our noodles will significantly raise your needed fiber intake and dramatically lower your total calorie intake.
Shirataki Noodles may help cholesterol levels. Soluble fiber helps lower total cholesterol by lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL or bad cholesterol level). It binds to bile acids that contain cholesterol that is secreted from the gall bladder and helps to quickly eliminate them from our system. Studies also show that a fiber-rich diet can reduce blood pressure and inflammation, which can also protect the heart.
Shirataki Noodles may help Type II Diabetes by slowing the digestive process--there is a slower absorption of glucose which then requires a slower release of insulin from the pancreas which aids in the normalization of blood glucose after eating a meal.
Though Shirataki Noodles are getting more and more popular in the USA, most people never heard nor tasted Shirataki Noodles. Therefore, there is some basic information to know. When opening the Shirataki Noodle pouch, it may smell a bit fishy, so it is important to know how to prepare them... because they really taste great!
Dukan Diet Shirataki Noodles do not need to be refrigerated. However, to extend their shelf life, you can put them in your fridge and still eat them up to 2 months after the expiration date.

Shirataki Noodles - Amazing! The Dukan Shirataki Noodles are great. I mix them with lean ground meat and seasoning or pasta sauce and the taste is amazing. They satisfy my hunger and have no fat or carbs. Definitely helps keep definition in the abs! - Reuben
Impressed! Just finished dinner with my Shirataki Noodles who came from ShopDukanDiet today. Had read the comments on here first...'taste like rubber bands'.... was worried...BUT I am happy. I fried mushrooms, onion, some meat and the noodles with an egg and fat free cheese over it. Oh, boy did I miss that. The noodles took on the taste of the 'Mix'. I am impressed. - M. |
