Friday has come round yet again, and to finish the working week off I have a gorgeous winter wedding sent into by Tino and Pip . It’s a good time to mention that Tino and Pip are currently running a competition to win 50% Off their Wedding Photography more details can be found  HERE

It’s the wedding of Kathryn and Luke Howard who were married on 19th September at St Swithun’s Church, East Grinstead with the reception at he Red Barn, Blindley Heath. They had 85 guests in the day, with an additional 30 in the evening. It took just under 10 months to plan. They say ‘We had an informal wedding in a countryside venue that we love. Everything was wonderful – from the church ceremony, to the local choir that sung in aid of our favourite charity, to the perfect wedding cake, and the band that got everyone up dancing.’

The wedding is shot beautifully by Tino and Pip who use the winter light to create a warm, cosy and atmospheric set of pictures. I love this venue with all the books along the walls, the huge lights, the lovely details like the suitcase and  candy bar.
Tino and Pip say ‘Kath and Luke’s reception at The Red Barn was one of the most inviting we’ve ever photographed – candlelit, with an amazing central fire and an entire wall of books at one end, we had loads of fun, as did their guests! The couple had an old suitcase for guests’ cards, but the travel thread didn’t stop there – an amazing world map table plan covered with various stamps from around the world, guided guests to their tables, where they found photo cards of places the couple had visited, with a few quirky facts about the place on the back! Thanks so much to Kath and Luke for having us on such an amazing day!

Today I would like to introduce to you Wedbeat who are one of my current sponsors. Wedbeat are an ‘Easy, fun, unique online wedding party music solution for weddings in the UK and abroad.’

Wedbeat lets you create your own personalised CD online. They hand mix and edit each song on your CD into a 3, 4 or 5 hour-long MP3 track. The track is seamless and uninterrupted and includes your optional choice of first dance song and/ or ‘must have’ songs.

I had a play on this last night with Nik, and to be honest it was really quick and easy to use. The site is very user-friendly, it is intuitive, and it offered a great choice of artists, with ones that I may not have thought of myself. Within 15 minutes we had a 3 hour playlist, including a first dance song and also a couple of songs we really couldn’t miss of the list, done and dusted and ready for ordering. Now when I think back to just how long it took me to put our wedding playlist together on ITunes…..this would have been WAY easier!!

My reasons for using this service
• For those of you who don’t have the time to play around with I Tunes creating your own playlist, which to be honest can take weeks (well it took me at least a month to put together my own playlist for my wedding) This is a great solution.
• It’s also a great idea if you have a band at your wedding who don’t offer a DJ solution for the slots in-between their sets.
• Also great for weddings abroad, this way you can bring your own wedding music and not have to ‘chance’ your luck with a DJ once you get to your chosen destination.
• Also great if you don’t have the budget for a professional DJ.
• You get to keep the CD forever Read the rest of this entry »

Today I have a weding from the very lovely Sassy from Assassynation. Sassy as you now is a regular on the blog and  a good friend. She is one of the hardest working people I know in the industry and is an all round awesome person!

The wedding is of the fabulous Kate and Tony Marr who had their new yeras eve wedding at Archbishops Palace, Maistone, Kent with the reception at The Moat, Wrotham, Kent. They had a small ceremony of 40 people and then in the evening there was an extra 30, ‘all our closest friends and family were there and we got to talk to everyone.’
Kate and Tony describe their day as ‘A detailed, down-to-earth, DIY day. It was a fantastic day and the best start ever to a New Year!’

The wedding is jam packed with personality and personal details. Kate spent a HUGE amount of time basically making pretty much everything for the wedding, She put so much fo her heart and soul into making the wedding totally ‘them’ that it really does go towards making their day even more special!

Diary of a Boho Bride – Claire and Tom, entry 3: purple and green inspiration boards

It’s a busy time of year for us wedding planners, and I am currently run off my feet getting everything sorted and ready for this years brides. Today we are talking colours and themes with my lovely couple Claire and Tom who are getting married on 8th September at Utopia in Skipton.

When I went to visit them at the venue a few months ago, they wanted my input on how to theme the day and what colours to use. The venue is quite unique in that is it a very modern building, all glass fronted and timber on the outside but set in some beautiful gardens with a huge array of flowers and plants.

Claire didn’t want a shabby chic, or country cottage look, both her and Tom wanted to keep the modern feel that the building was giving us without going down the traditional route. So we took inspiration from the gardens and plants around us and decided that a mixture of purple, green and cream would work well, keeping it natural but making it edgy and modern with the choice of flower arrangements and decoration.

Things that Claire knew she wanted were:

  • Paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling
  • A cake table, with her guests brining in their own cakes
  • Lots of fairy lights inside and out
  • Lots of outside lanterns and lighting
  • Out door furniture

So I have now put together some inspiration boards for them to help with their theaming and colour ways, I always find them useful when working with a couple as we are sure that we are on the same page!

Today I have a whole lot of pretty for you in the form of this cute and relaxed wedding from Helen Cawte Photography. I actually came across Helen as I am featuring her own wedding in a  couple of weeks time, an amazing Ibiza wedding shot by Christian Ward. Helen got in contact with me and told me a bit more about herself and submitted this gorgeous wedding to me!

It’s the wedding of Tom and Natalie Weller who were married on 14th May 2011 at Bosham Church, with the reception at Duncton Mill with 120 guests. It took 9 months to plan the wedding. Tom and Natalie describe their day as ‘The most amazing and incredible day of our lives, from the moment I woke up until I fell asleep I couldn’t stop smiling.’

It’s such a pretty wedding, I’m loving so many things about it, the pastel shades, the location, the boats, the beach hut theme, the bunting, the flowers and I LOVE Natalie’s dress, so relaxed, unstructured and it really flows with the whole feel of this gorgeous wedding!
