Add An Opt In Form To Every Post Then Triple Your Blog Traffic
Hi all, thanks for stopping by.
Everyone working online knows how important it is to start building an email list and having an opt-in form available for people to subscribe to our lists.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, I see so many blog owners using the wrong method of applying their opt-in forms to their blogs. One of my pet hates is getting to blog, start reading the content and then 60 seconds later up comes a pop up that covers the screen and stops me reading.
Now I know that it’s their blog and they can apply what they want to it. But isn’t the point of a blog to allow people to read our content?
So why would we want to interrupt our visitors when they’re reading?
I don’t like pop ups on a blog or those ones that slide up from the bottom and I know I’m not alone in this. Personally if I get to a blog, start reading the content and a pop up then stops me reading I’m going to leave the blog altogether, unless those few lines that I’ve read have really grabbed my attention.
There are other ways of adding an opt-in form to our blogs. We can place them in our side bars, as I have done over on the right of the blog. Or we can add them to our blog posts, as I have also done.
I was recently asked how I added the opt-in forms to my blog posts so to answer the question I created a video showing people how it’s done
Don’t worry, we don’t have to set this up for every post as we set it up once and it’s automatically added to every post on your blog, both new and old
Watch the video below and see if this method suits you better.
To download the plugin mentioned in the video visit:
www.bit.ly/AddSig
Once you’ve set it up it’s time to generate traffic to your blogs in order for people to subscribe to your list.
Which brings me onto my next point:
Are you really happy with the traffic your receive to your blog? What if I told you that there’s a Brand New FREE video available that can show you how to Triple Your Blog Traffic and it’s available from beneath this post, or over on the right of the screen, with instant access so you can get started straight away
How cool is that?
As long as you take action and apply everything then it’s a win win
I really hope that you’ve found this post helpful and if you have please do me a favour and help me spread the word by using the buttons below to tell your friends and followers.
As you know I love to read and reply to your comments so please leave me one below and tell whether you found this post and video helpful.
Out of curiosity can you also share your views on using pop ups on blogs, I’m interested to see how many people feel the same way as I do.
Until next time: View, Enjoy and then Apply
PS If you would like to Triple Your Blog Traffic simply enter your details below for
INSTANT ACCESS to the Brand New Video, MP3 file and eBook

Hi Barry,Just thought I would by your blog today and see how things were going only to be surprised by your new wonderful blog post. And yeah talk about annoying pop up boxes lol- they sure do get in the way and certainly most surprise ya when you least expected. Not exactly a great way either to start off with building a relationship with a new visitor and potential future follower and loyal reader.
Hope all is well and that you are enjoying the lovely weather we are having – have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Nigel, wow that was quick my friendThanks for sharing your views on the pop ups. Some of them can make you jump a little when you’re not expecting them
You’re absolutely right mate, they’re not a good way of starting the relationship with new visitors. Especially those that offer the same product that’s sat on the home pageThe weather is gorgeous isn’t it. I’m off out in garden after this to get some odd jobs done before the rain comes back
You have a great weekend as well Nigel, catch you up in the week my friend.
Respect and Regards,
BarryReply

Hi Barry,Thanks so much for the email, very thoughtful of you. I’m well, very busy, but this weekend is a long one – yipee – and as in England, we too are enjoying the terrific weather.
Pop-ups, hmmm, don’t like them at all. I don’t know if it’s firefox or what, but they pop up when I click to open my email or fb links. I do have pop-up blocks, perhaps need to update something. Anyway, on blogs, yes they are, as you said, nothing but an annoying distraction – my two cents.
As to your op-in on your blog posts though, now that is a great idea, thanks for showing us how to put them on Barry.
Take Care

Hi Julie, no worries on the emailThe weather has been great Julie, lets hope it stays a little longer
Don’t get me wrong on pop ups Julie, they do have a use and a place to apply them. I have one on my eBook website offering free eBooks when people subscribe to my list. However the people that visit the ebook website are looking for ebooks.
When it comes to blogs people come to read our content or watch our videos and i don’t feel that pop ups belong on blogs.
I’m pleased that you like the method I apply to my blog. It’s easy to set up Julie
Best of luck, Barry

Hi Barry
I agree entirely, pop ups are a certain way for me to leave a blog. How many MC blogs do you see with the pop up “Why You’ll Never Succeed Online”, well I think they have answered their own question. Meanwhile a certain somebody is loving all the exposure.

Hi Bill,That’s a very good point mate, especially when the same offer is on the home page when you land on the blogs in the first place. If you want that report Bill it’s on my free gifts page
Have a great week Bill, I hope your new venture is coming along nicely
Take care, Barry

Hi BarryI watched your video on adding an optin form and got one on my blog in no time at all so thanks for that bud.
Your videos are very step by step and straight to the point which is good and you make me howl every time you say your belly’s rumbling so it must be time for tea (ha ha).
How you doing on finding a rumble jingle by the way?, I’ve found my trump one (lol)
Regarding popups…
I do own one but turned it off because I thought most of the people that come to my blog didn’t like them.
Personally I don’t mind if I go on a blog and one comes on so I think you’ll find its half and half and you’ll get some people that like them and some people that don’t.
After all we NEVER can please everyone Barry can we (lol)
Catch you on the rounds

Hi Dawn,I saw that you had added the opt-in form to your posts and congratulate you on taking swift action Dawn. Thanks for the feedback on the videos, I’m glad that you enjoy them arrrrrrr the belly rumble No I still haven’t been able to find a jingle I ‘m keeping my phone near me at all times hoping to record one live ha ha. Where did you find the trump one Dawn? I really want one as it’ll make the videos so memorable.
I know you had a pop up active Dawn and yours was one of the few blogs where I would simply close the pop up and carry on reading your content. The ones where I instantly close the blog are those that offer the same thing in the pop up as they’re offering on the home page
I know what you mean about never being able to please everyone Dawn and as I said in the post: Personal blogs belong to the person and it’s their’s to apply what they want to it
Thanks Dawn, take care.

Ha ha now if you could catch a live one and record it that would be fab (lol)I got mine from Audio Jungle – audiojungle.net
I’m keeping an eye out for ya and they have a few rumbles which you might want to look at.
I went for a piece of music with sounds that resembled a trump in the end as I didn’t wanna offend anyone (lol)
I’ll keep looking and let me know if you find anything
Catch ya soon

Hey Barry,Okay, I’ve wondered how you did that and now I know. Thank you for sharing that video with us walking us through exactly how to import that box below our posts. See, that was so easy and I feel so silly for not having learned that before now.
I recently learned exactly all the different places we should be putting our opt-in box but I have to get my darn free gift up before I implement all of this. So on to my next project now.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us and I’ll be checking out your video too!
You’re the best!

Hi Adrienne,Don’t feel silly Adrienne. Things are only easy once we know how it’s done. When I first started creating the video I deleted the plugin so as to show everyone how to install it through wordpress, only to discover that I couldn’t find it on wordpress so I installed the plugin again from a back up. Another testament for creating regular back ups
I know what you mean about having the free gift ready before placing our opt-in forms on our blogs. I had the same view before joining Facebook and bringing the traffic here. I know you’ll get the product created and that it’ll be a fantastic one Adrienne, I can’t wait as I know it’ll be packed with quality info.
I hope that you enjoyed the video, thanks for checking it out
Have a great week Adrienne, catch up soon
Respect and Regards,

Great article Barry and a very helpful video. You are indeed not alone in getting annoyed of the pop ups that distracts our reading. Unless pop ups are irresistible, we must avoid it as much as possible and use other opt-in forms instead. Just like how you have put it as shown in your video. Thanks for such a helpful article.

Hi John,I’m glad that you found the video helpful and that you agree with me about the pop ups. As you say some are irresistible, which is acceptable but those that repeat the offer from the home page arrr I’m closing the page and moving on.
Take care John,
Thanks mate
